There aren’t too many sub ohm vape tanks quite as well known or as well loved as UWELL’s Valyrian ones.

For what seems like forever, there has always been a Valyrian tank on the market and, most importantly, they have always been really, really good.

I used the OG Valyrian, the Valyrian 2, and, of course, the exceptional Valyrian 2 Pro.

And I used them all pretty extensively because they delivered excellent flavor, large clouds, and their coils had excellent lifespans.

But what about the UWELL Valyrian 3? It is as good as its predecessors? Is the flavor as incredible as before? Or are you better off going with one of these, other exceptionally good sub ohm vape tanks?

With respect to design, UWELL hasn’t changed too much. The UWELL Valyrian 3 looks as good as ever, comes with a 6ml juice capacity, and it is features a top-fill design, whereby the mouthpiece is popped-off to reveal the juice fill hole.

It isn’t a small tank by any stretch of the imagination; holding 6ml of vape juice will do that to a tank, unfortunately. But if you value raw juice capacity over portability, this is not going to be an issue.

Available in a range of colors – Black, Blue, Silver, Gun Metal, Iridescent – the UWELL Valyrian 3 looks the part and, like its predecessors, is simple to setup, live with, and clean, making it an ideal choice for beginners and veterans alike.

Around the bottom of the UWELL Valyrian 3, you have an adjustable AFC ring which you can use to customize the way it vapes. The ring has loads of potential settings too, so it is really easy to dial in different styles of vaping with it.

After testing a bunch of different settings, I found that I liked the UWELL Valyrian 3 best with its AFC wide open. If I’m going to use a sub ohm vape tank, I want to run it at maximum power and I want that swooshy airflow.

I like the UWELL Valyrian 3 design, I like its color options, and I really like how easy it is to install and remove coils, thanks to its threaded coil system. The top fill juice hole is a nice touch too; it creates less mess and is far easier than having to remove the bottom of the tank.

• FeCrAl 0.14ohm Valyrian 3 coil (comes with kit)

With coils, you have several options (detailed above) and the UWELL Valyrian 3 will run the UWELL Valyrian 2 coils.

But if you want to REALLY experience what this tank can do, you’ll want to start with the FeCrAl 0.14ohm Valyrian 3 coil – it comes with the kit and it is utterly bad ass.

The FeCrAl 0.14ohm Valyrian 3 coil is the most potent coil that you can currently run in the UWELL Valyrian 3. I’ve had mine up and around 100W and it really sings. The flavor and clouds it delivers are insane, making it ideal for cloud chasers and vape trick fans.

For a more laid back vaping experience, the SS316 0.32ohm UN2 Valyrian 3 coil is ideal. It isn’t as potent as the FeCrAl 0.14ohm Valyrian 3 coil but the flavor is still very much on point. You’ll just want to keep the power considerably lower in order to extract the optimal performance from this one.

We’ve already covered the Valyrian 2 coil performance in our review of the UWELL Valyrian 2. Suffice to say, they’re very good and, like UWELL’s new Valyrian 3 coils, they have excellent life span, averaging around 10-12 days between changes which is great.

Performance

I ran this tank for a solid month and half and it was bloody superb. In fact, it was so good that I have kept it around for when I fancy a sub ohm vape (which isn’t all the time, these days).

If you’re a fan of big flavor and even bigger clouds, the UWELL Valyrian 3 is an obvious choice. Its coils are massive and it chucks out all kinds of flavor, providing you’re using the right juice – you’ll want to use as higher VG as possible.

The new coils, for me, are a big part of the UWELL Valyrian 3’s appeal. The single coil mesh one is utterly superb, delivering some of the best flavor I have ever gotten out of the sub ohm vape tank.

Add in the fact that it’ll happily run Valyrian 2 coils and you’re in a very good place. Far too many vape brands do not do this, so I am glad to see that UWELL is making the UWELL Valyrian 3 backwards compatible.

Having more choice with coils is ALWAYS a good thing when you’re running a sub ohm vape tank.

Is The UWELL Valyrian 3 Worth It?

Compared to nearly everything else on the market right now, I’d say the UWELL Valyrian 3 is the #1 sub ohm tank for flavor right now. UWELL has set the bar incredibly high in this regard and I do not see anyone else matching it this year.

The design is solid, the coils are utterly superb, truly a masterclass in engineering, and the flavor and clouds it produces are off the charts. For me, the UWELL Valyrian 3 is the ONLY sub ohm vape tank you’ll need to buy in 2023 – nothing else comes even remotely close.

The coils rock, the clouds are massive, and the flavor is incredible. Add in the fact that it is easy to use and setup AND that it never leaks and its coils last for weeks at a time and it is very easy to see why we have fallen in love with this epic vape tank…
