The XROS Pro 2 Is Better, But Not By A Mile
I prefer the Vaporesso XROS Pro 2. It has a larger battery, a nicer magnesium-alloy body, better usage tracking and Super Pulse technology that keeps performance more consistent as the battery drains. It feels like the proper flagship.
But the XROS 6 gets surprisingly close. Both reach 30W, use exactly the same pods and produce very similar flavor. The XROS 6 is also cheaper, slimmer and much faster to recharge.

Pick Your XROS
My money still goes on the XROS Pro 2. The larger battery, better materials and Super Pulse system make it nicer to use every day. But if you mainly vape MTL and want to save some money, the XROS 6 gives you most of the same core performance.
The Vaporesso XROS 6 is newer, cheaper and quicker to recharge. But after using both, I still prefer the XROS Pro 2.

It feels better, its battery lasts longer and its Super Pulse system keeps the vape feeling more consistent as the battery runs down.
That doesnโt mean the XROS 6 is a bad option. Far from it. In many respects, itโs one of the best standard XROS devices Vaporesso has made.
But the XROS Pro 2 is still the flagship.
- Both devices run at up to 30W.
- Both have colour screens, adjustable airflow and automatic draw activation.
- They also use exactly the same XROS pods.
- Fit the same 0.4ฮฉ COREX 3.0 pod to each, use the same liquid and set them to the same power, and there isnโt a massive difference in flavour.
The reason I prefer the Pro 2 has more to do with how it feels and behaves throughout the day.

The supplied pods differ, but both devices accept the full XROS pod range, including 0.4ฮฉ, 0.6ฮฉ, 0.8ฮฉ, 1.0ฮฉ and 1.2ฮฉ options.
How Similar Are They?
Very similar.
This is the bit that gets lost when people compare the spec sheets.
The XROS Pro 2 and XROS 6 use the same pod platform. The pod contains the coil, wick and most of the parts responsible for flavour production.
That means flavour depends more on which pod you fit than which of these two batteries you attach it to.
A 0.4ฮฉ COREX 3.0 pod produces a warmer, denser vape on either device. A 0.8ฮฉ pod gives you a cooler and tighter MTL draw. Move the pod from one device to the other and the underlying character remains much the same.
Both devices also let you adjust the airflow and select different power levels. When using the 0.4ฮฉ pod, you can adjust the output in 0.5W steps up to 30W.
You arenโt buying the Pro 2 because the XROS 6 cannot handle lower-resistance pods. It can.
Youโre buying it for the battery, construction, Super Pulse output and better on-device controls.
Why I Prefer The XROS Pro 2
The Pro 2 feels like the better product as soon as you pick it up.
Its magnesium-alloy body has a more expensive feel without becoming unnecessarily heavy. Itโs slightly chunkier than the XROS 6, but it still disappears into a pocket without much fuss.
I also prefer the way it sits in my hand. The wider body gives you a little more to grip, especially when using the fire button or changing the settings.
The XROS 6 is more like a traditional pen-style pod vape. Itโs slim, neat and easy to carry, but it doesnโt have the same premium feel.
Does that affect flavour? No.
Does it affect which device I naturally reach for? Absolutely.
The Battery Lasts Longer
The XROS Pro 2 has a 2000mAh battery, while the XROS 6 has an 1800mAh cell.
Thatโs only an 11% increase, so donโt expect the Pro 2 to last twice as long. It wonโt.
But that extra capacity becomes more useful when youโre running the 0.4ฮฉ pod at higher power. Lower-resistance pods pull more from the battery, and the additional 200mAh gives the Pro 2 a little more breathing room.
With moderate MTL use, either model should get most people through the day without any bother. Heavy users are more likely to notice the difference.
The XROS 6 has the better charging system, though.
It supports 5V/3A and 9V/2A charging, while the Pro 2 tops out at 5V/2A. Vaporesso says the XROS 6 can reach around 50% in ten minutes when used with a compatible charger.
Thatโs genuinely useful.
If youโre the sort of person who forgets to charge until the battery warning appears, the XROS 6 is much easier to rescue during a quick coffee break.
Super Pulse Makes A Difference
Vape devices usually feel strongest immediately after charging. As the battery drains, the output can start to feel flatter, especially with lower-resistance pods.
The XROS Pro 2โs Super Pulse system is designed to compensate for this by adjusting the delivery as the battery level falls.
It doesnโt transform the flavour or suddenly make the Pro 2 twice as powerful. What it does is keep the experience more even.
The first draw after charging and the final few draws before the battery warning feel closer together. Thatโs the sort of feature you stop noticing after a while because it simply works.
Go back to a device without it and the drop-off becomes easier to spot.
For me, this is one of the better reasons to choose the Pro 2. It changes something you experience throughout the life of every charge, rather than adding another animation to the screen.
What Is The XROS Pro 2 Like To Use Every Day?
Itโs easy to live with.
The top-filling XROS pods mean you donโt have to remove the pod whenever it needs more liquid. Pop off the mouthpiece, fill it, snap the top back into place and carry on.
The airflow slider gives you a decent range of adjustment. You can close it down for a tight MTL draw or open it up when using the 0.4ฮฉ pod for a looser restricted-direct-lung vape.
The automatic draw works well, but you also have the fire button if you prefer pressing something. I tend to use automatic draw most of the time because itโs quicker and feels more natural on a pod system.
The 0.96-inch screen is easy to read and gives you access to the battery percentage, resistance, power, modes and puff data.
You can also view daily and weekly puff charts. I wouldnโt buy the device solely for this, but it can be useful if youโre trying to keep an eye on how much you vape.
The Pro 2 also lets you lock the screen and disable the fire button. Thatโs handy if you carry it in a pocket or bag but still want automatic draw to remain active.
My only real complaint is that the menus are more involved than some people will want.
If you just want to fill a pod and vape, the extra themes, charts and settings can feel unnecessary. You can ignore most of them, of course, but theyโre still part of the experience.

What Is The XROS 6 Like To Use Every Day?
The XROS 6 is the easier device to recommend to someone who just wants a good XROS without paying for the Pro model.
Itโs slim, light and extremely pocket-friendly. The basic shape will feel familiar to anyone who has used an XROS 4 or XROS 5.
The biggest day-to-day benefit is the charging speed.
The 1800mAh battery is already large enough for a small pod device, and the 3A charging system means you donโt have to leave it plugged in for long. Ten minutes can be enough to get you through the rest of the day.
Its 0.88-inch screen is smaller than the one on the Pro 2, but it still shows the information most people care about. You can see the battery level, power and pod resistance without digging around.
Vaporesso has also added its new Venturi airflow system.
This is designed to make the draw smoother and quieter by controlling how air travels through the device. There is a difference, particularly when using a tighter MTL setting, but I wouldnโt call it a reason to abandon a recent XROS model.
Itโs a refinement. A nice one, but still a refinement.
Smart Prime Is Useful, But Not Essential
The XROS 6 can detect a newly installed pod and run a 60-second priming countdown.
The idea is to stop people filling a fresh pod and immediately taking a draw before the cotton has absorbed enough liquid.
That can prevent a burnt first hit and potentially save the pod.
Itโs a good addition for beginners, but experienced users already know to let a new pod sit after filling. I usually give a fresh pod a few minutes anyway, so the one-minute timer doesnโt change much for me.
Again, useful. Just not something that makes the XROS 6 better than the Pro 2 overall.
Which Produces Better Flavour?
Neither wins by much.
Both devices use COREX 3.0 XROS pods, and the pod makes the largest difference.
Use a 0.4ฮฉ pod on both at the same power and the results are very close. The same applies to the 0.6ฮฉ and 0.8ฮฉ pods.
The Pro 2 can feel more consistent as its battery runs down because of Super Pulse. That gives it a small advantage across a full charge, especially with the 0.4ฮฉ pod.
But Iโm not going to pretend the XROS Pro 2 produces completely different flavour. It doesnโt.
If you already own an XROS 6, buying the Pro 2 will not suddenly reveal hidden layers inside your favourite e-liquid. Youโre paying for the better battery, construction and overall experience.
Which Has Better Battery Life?
The XROS Pro 2 wins.
Its 2000mAh battery is larger than the 1800mAh cell inside the XROS 6. The difference isnโt enormous, but itโs there.
The advantage will be most noticeable if you:
- Vape frequently throughout the day
- Use the 0.4ฮฉ pod
- Run at higher wattages
- Regularly spend long periods away from a charger
The XROS 6 has the faster charging system, so itโs better if you frequently charge in short bursts.
Basically, the Pro 2 lasts longer. The XROS 6 gets back on its feet faster.
Which Is Better For MTL Vaping?
For pure MTL vaping, Iโd probably save the money and get the XROS 6.
Its Venturi airflow works nicely with the 0.8ฮฉ pod, the body is slimmer and the 1800mAh battery lasts well when youโre vaping at lower power.
It also comes with 0.6ฮฉ and 0.8ฮฉ pods, while the Pro 2 kit includes 0.4ฮฉ and 0.6ฮฉ pods. The XROS 6 bundle is more obviously aimed at traditional MTL users.
The Pro 2 can do MTL perfectly well. Fit a 0.8ฮฉ or 1.0ฮฉ pod, close down the airflow and youโre sorted.
But if that is all you intend to do, you may not get much from its Super Pulse system, larger screen or extra battery capacity.
Which Is Better For RDL Vaping?
I prefer the XROS Pro 2 for restricted-direct-lung vaping.
Both models support the 0.4ฮฉ pod and reach 30W, so theyโre evenly matched on paper.
The Pro 2โs larger battery and Super Pulse system make more sense when using the lower-resistance pod, though. Youโre drawing more power, creating more vapour and placing greater demand on the battery.
Its wider body also feels more natural with the warmer and more powerful setup.
The XROS 6 can absolutely handle RDL vaping. But if the 0.4ฮฉ pod is going to be your main setup, Iโd spend the extra money on the Pro 2.
Which Is Easier To Use?
For a complete beginner, the XROS 6 has the edge.
Smart Prime gives new users a clear reminder to let the pod saturate. Its slimmer body feels more like a simple starter device, while its supplied 0.6ฮฉ and 0.8ฮฉ pods are sensible options for nicotine salts and MTL vaping.
The Pro 2 has more information, more menus and more settings.
It isnโt difficult to use. You can insert a pod and rely on automatic draw without changing anything. But there is more going on, and not everyone needs it.
Which One Is Better Value?
The XROS 6 is better value.
It costs around $7 less than the XROS Pro 2. You still get 30W output, a colour screen, adjustable airflow, a large battery and access to every XROS pod.
That is a lot of vape for the money.
The Pro 2 is the better device, but the XROS 6 gives you most of the same vaping experience for less.
This comes down to what you mean by value.
If value means getting the most features for the lowest initial price, buy the XROS 6.
If value means buying the model youโll enjoy using more over the next year, Iโd take the Pro 2.

Should XROS 5 Owners Upgrade To The XROS 6?
Only if battery life or charging speed is bothering you.
The XROS 6 increases the battery capacity to 1800mAh and adds faster 3A charging, Smart Prime and Venturi airflow.
Those are sensible changes, but the basic vaping experience is still built around the same XROS pod platform.
If your XROS 5 still works properly and youโre happy with its battery, thereโs no urgent reason to replace it.
If you want a more noticeable jump from the standard XROS line, the Pro 2 makes more sense.
Should XROS Pro 2 Owners Buy The XROS 6?
No.
The XROS 6 charges faster and has the newer airflow design, but it isnโt an upgrade from the Pro 2.
Youโd be moving to a smaller battery, smaller display and less premium body. The flavour would remain broadly similar because youโd still be using the same pods.
Keep the Pro 2.
My Verdict
The Vaporesso XROS 6 is probably the model most people need.
Itโs affordable, slim, quick to charge and compatible with every current XROS pod. For MTL vaping with the 0.6ฮฉ or 0.8ฮฉ pod, itโs extremely hard to fault.
But the XROS Pro 2 is the one I prefer.
It feels better in the hand, lasts longer between charges and maintains its output more consistently. The larger display and puff tracking are nice extras, but the magnesium-alloy body, 2000mAh battery and Super Pulse system are what make the difference for me.
- The XROS 6 is the better-value standard model that’ll work best for anyone that just needs something nice and simple.
- The XROS Pro 2 is the better vape.
And if I could only keep one, Iโd keep the Pro 2.
