How To Clean Your Vape Tank (Like A BOSS)
How all this works is super-simple: you get yourself a jewelry cleaner, an electric one, and, instead of cleaning your bling in it, you bang your vape tanks in there instead.
It works just as good for rings and necklaces as it does for vape tanks.
I use the Famili FM8000WW Ultrasonic jewelry cleaner; it’s cheap ($32.99 via Amazon), it works great, and my mum had one she wasn’t using anymore.
Amazon sells hundreds of different types of jewelry cleaners, so if you fancy something different (or cheaper), you can check them out here – prices range from $30 to $40 on average.
How To Clean Vape Tank With Jewelry Cleaner
How it works is simple: you have ultra-sonic waves which, basically, attack and remove the grease and grime from the objects inside the cleaner. In this context, that’d be your vape tank.
This ensures ALL that excess gunk and crap is completely removed from your tank. And it doesn’t matter if it’s in RDA, an RTA, or a sub ohm tank.
As long as it’s made from stainless steel or metal, you’re all good. This is how I do it when I’m cleaning my tanks.
- Take the tanks apart
- Lay them down inside the cleaner
- Add some water and a dash of soap
- Turn it on for a cycle
- Go and have a beer
Why You Should ALWAYS Clean Your Vape Tank
Simple: they’ll last longer. If you don’t maintain your car, it’ll start running bad. Nobody wants this. That’s why you get it regularly serviced, so it runs good and doesn’t cost you big bucks when something goes wrong.
With a vape tank, it’s a little different but the point is the same: if you look after it properly, it’ll last you longer. The longer you use it, the less you spend on additional hardware. Simple, right?
In addition to this, it is also a monumental pain in the ass to get rubbing alcohol, flannels, dishcloths, and all the other nonsense you need to manually clean a vape tank. It just takes ages and it’s kind of gross.
With one of these jewelry cleaners, all you got to do is whack the tanks in – I can fit about six in mine –, turn it on, and wait until they’re all cleaned.
And that’s it! No flannels, no cleaning products, no rubbing alcohol. No nothing.
How Long Does It Take To Clean A Vape Tank?
On the Famili FM8000WW Ultrasonic jewelry cleaner, you have a few settings to play with: 90, 180, 300, 480 or 600 seconds.
Depending on how dirty your tanks are, you’ll want to experiment with the timings. The longer they’re in there the cleaner they’ll get, obviously. But once you’ve done a deep-clean on them, you can reduce the time next time you put them in.
I tend to do my tanks every couple of weeks. This keeps them in tip-top condition and means I get the maximum performance out of them.
I hated cleaning them with a cloth and soap and a bucket of water. I hated it so much I never did it, basically. Then I saw the cleaner at my mum’s and figured I’d try one of my tanks in it.
Not only did it work, but it was way quicker than manually cleaning them by hand. And it does a proper good job too. The tanks always look brand new and sparkly once they’ve been through a cycle.
So… if you’re lazy like me, but you want your tanks to always be nice and clean, get yourself a jewelry cleaner to do all the legwork for you!
