TL;DR: Is The Venty Actually Better Than The Mighty+?
The Venty is Storz & Bickel’s most feature-packed portable β 20-second heat-up, adjustable airflow, app control, and a sleek new design. I own both this and the Mighty+, and I’ve used them extensively. Here’s how it breaks down:
- Get the Mighty+ if you want no-fuss durability, top-notch vapor, and better value. App-free, easy to use, $100 less.
- Get the Venty if you love customization, faster heat-ups, adjustable airflow, and don’t mind the premium price tag.
The Venty is excellent. But the price feels high even for Storz & Bickel, and the early recall history gives pause. For most people, the Mighty+ still makes more sense β you’re getting around 90% of the performance for $100 less.
- Ultra-fast 20-second heat-up
- Adjustable airflow β double the Mighty+
- Full app-based control and customization
- Slightly better battery β ~12 sessions/charge
- Storz & Bickel build quality and reputation
- Smaller and more portable than Mighty+
- $449 β $100 more than the Mighty+
- Early batch recall history (now resolved)
- Requires app for full feature access
- App dependency adds complexity
- Not certified for medical use (unlike Mighty+)
- Questionable value over the Mighty+ for most users

Is Storz & Bickel’s Latest Vaporizer Its Best?
Designed to bring the fight to more feature-heavy vaporizers like the AirVape Legacy Pro, the Venty comes with a BIG price tag and lots of new bells and whistles. But it’s not exactly had a smooth ride so far with recalls and myriad bugs and issues.
Is it worth it? I own and have used both extensively. Here’s how I see it breaking down (for most people):
- Mighty+: If you want a no-fuss vaporizer thatβs durable, delivers top-notch vapor, and skips the bells and whistles, the Mighty+ is your guy. Itβs app-free, easy to use, and priced lower than the Venty, making it a smart choice for those who value simplicity.
- Venty: On the flip side, if you’re a techie who loves customization, faster heat-ups, and adjustable airflow, the Venty might be worth the extra $100. Itβs sleek, app-enabled, and packed with features that allow you to fine-tune each session. And for some, this makes it a preferable option.
You also need to keep in mind that Storz & Bickel donβt make cheap products.
Whether youβre talking about its iconic line of Volcano desktop vaporizers or its portable weed vaporizers like the Mighty+, Crafty+ or its latest, the Venty, these are premium products.Β
The Venty is the companyβs latest flagship product, the high-point of its portable vaporizer lineup.
It comes with loads of new bells and whistles, a new and distinctive design, and one of the fastest heat-up times on the market.Β
The question most potential buyers need to ask themselves, I feel, is whether the Venty is better than the Mighty+ because I honestly don’t think it is in many respects. But that’s based on my usage case, yours might be different.
The focus of this review, then, will be framed in this context: is the Venty actually a better vaporizer than the Mighty+ vaporizer?
By the end, you’ll know which is right for you.
And it’s an important distinction to make too; the Venty costs around $100 more and that’s not exactly pocket change.
Hereβs what you need to know (based on my experience as someone that owns and has used both vaporizers extensively)β¦Β

My Take: Why the Mighty+ Still Reigns Supreme

For fans of simplicity and reliability, the Mighty+ is a dream. It has all the essentials and performs like a champ. The vapor quality is excellent, the battery life lasts around 6-8 sessions, and the durability is unmatchedβno need to fuss with apps or extra settings. Plus, itβs the only vaporizer certified for medical use and it costs $100 less than the Venty.
- Reliability Lovers: Those who want consistent performance without all the tech.
- Simplicity Seekers: No app, just turn it on and enjoy.
- Flavor Fans: Dense, flavorful vapor that doesnβt mess around.
Me? Iβm not a massive fan of the idea that introducing more and more technology inside products is the simplest way to make it better. That goes for cars, phones, and weed vaporizers.Β
The Venty is an impressive piece of kit, as youβd expect from a brand like Storz & Bickel, but the thing youβre paying more for βΒ generally speaking β is its new, fancier abilities.
Things like its app-based controls, for instance, that I can totally and happily live without.Β
And these fancier features come with their own set of problems: the Venty is not reliable, there has been recalls and myriad problems with it since launch.
For instance, with the Mighty+ you DO NOT need a phone to do anything; itβs all done on the device itself. I like that about it. I spend enough time looking at my phone like a doink, I donβt need any more excuses to do it.Β
Now, there are other improvements β the faster heat-up time; the Venty will do a full bowl in 20 seconds βΒ and the airflow, now adjustable, is definitely more nuanced and interesting.
But is it worth an extra $100? I donβt think so. Not when the Mighty+ is still as good as ever.Β
For me, the bottom line here is simple: if you like to tinker and mess around with settings and you want to do it from a phone app, and youβd also like faster heat-up times, sure, get the Venty βΒ it is bloody fantastic.Β
Butβ¦ if you want to save yourself some cash and get better value for money, as well as some of the best vapor production youβll ever experience on a portable, go with the Mighty+.Β
The Case For The Venty Vaporizer…

Why You’d Buy The Venty:
- Tech Enthusiasts: Those who want to control every aspect of their session.
- Travelers: Its smaller, portable design is a bonus.
- Fast-Paced Users: The quick heat-up time means youβre good to go almost instantly.
If youβre eyeing the Venty for its tech upgrades, letβs break down what youβre really getting for that extra $100.
First up: Superior Airflow. Storz & Bickel gave the Venty a major airflow boost; it’s double what the Mighty+ offers. This means smoother, lighter hits that feel effortless, especially if you prefer gentler draws.
And with the Ventyβs adjustable airflow wheel, you can fine-tune your experience to get exactly the kind of vapor youβre after.
Itβs impressive, no doubt, but honestly, I donβt find myself missing it on the Mighty+.
The Mighty+ airflow is fixed, yes, but itβs just as consistent and satisfying.
Then thereβs the heat-up time. The Ventyβs ready to go in 20 seconds flat, compared to the Mighty+ which takes about a minute.
Now, if youβre in a rush or just hate waiting, this is definitely a plus.
Why Was The Venty Vaporizer Recalled?
Storz & Bickel hasnβt directly explained the reason behind the Ventyβs recall, but thereβs speculation it may involve a risk of overheating, which could potentially lead to fire hazards.
Although there have been no confirmed reports of this happening, the company took precautions by rendering the units inoperable, preventing them from charging, heating up, or even turning on.
The Ventyβs ultra-fast heat-up time likely adds to these concerns. Since itβs a battery-powered vaporizer that heats up quickly, thereβs a higher risk of overheating, which is a known safety issue with similar devices like vape pens that use 510 batteries.
These devices reach high temperatures in a short time, which increases energy transfer and can lead to dangerous situations if not managed carefully.
On a more positive note: this issue has now been completely resolved, so there’s no need to worry about it anymore βΒ it only affected the very first batch of Venty vaporizers.
But letβs be realβIβm not in such a hurry that I canβt spare 40 extra seconds. For me, the Mighty+ still heats up fast enough to get the job done without me tapping my foot.
Finally, battery efficiency. The Venty can push out around 12 bowls per charge, slightly more than the Mighty+, especially if you keep it at lower temps. If youβre out and about all day, this could be handy, but realistically, both vapes give solid battery life for extended sessions.
So, is the Venty worth the extra cash? For some, sureβif you love fiddling with settings, need ultra-fast heat-ups, and appreciate a little more control over your draw, youβll probably dig the Venty. But for $100 less, the Mighty+ still hits every mark that matters: solid airflow, killer vapor quality, and battery life that lasts.
Final Thoughts / Things To Keep In Mind…

- Battery: While itβs non-replaceable, the battery still offers a solid 12 sessions per charge.
- Complexity: The app and advanced features add a layer of complexity that may feel overwhelming for some.
I know Iβve been a bit tough on the Venty here, but donβt get me wrong: itβs an excellent vaporizerβone of the best Iβve tested. The only issue? The price feels a little high, even for Storz & Bickel.
From what Iβve gathered while using the Venty, the Mighty+ just makes more sense for most people. Itβs cheaper, and youβre still getting around 90% of the performance. Thatβs why, at the moment, Iβd still recommend the Mighty+ over the Venty.
Now, if you donβt mind the extra cost for the faster heat-up, app control, and adjustable airflow, by all means, go for the Ventyβitβs fantastic.
But if saving cash while getting nearly the same performance sounds better, the Mighty+ is hard to beat.
But if customization, rapid heat-up, and a modern design are calling your name, the Venty is definitely worth the investment if it isn’t too much of a stretch.
Either way, both devices are excellent β you just need to decide what matters most to you (and how much you’re comfortable spending). And if you do need cheaper alternatives, check out my guide to this year’s best weed vaporizers βΒ it covers all price brackets from budget to high-end.
