Storz & Bickel has a new player on the field, the Venty vaporizer. Designed to bring the fight to more feature-heavy vaporizers like the AirVape Legacy Pro, the Venty comes with a BIG price tag. But is it worth it?
TL;DR: Mighty+ vs. Venty – Which Vape Should You Buy? 🤔
- Mighty+: If you want a no-fuss vaporizer that’s durable, delivers top-notch vapor, and skips the bells and whistles, the Mighty+ is your guy. It’s app-free, easy to use, and priced lower than the Venty, making it a smart choice for those who value simplicity.
- Venty: On the flip side, if you’re a techie who loves customization, faster heat-ups, and adjustable airflow, the Venty might be worth the extra $100. It’s sleek, app-enabled, and packed with features that allow you to fine-tune each session.
Bottom Line?
Storz & Bickel don’t make cheap products. Whether you’re talking about its iconic line of Volcano desktop vaporizers or its portable weed vaporizers like the Mighty+, Crafty+ or its latest, the Venty, these are premium products.
The Venty is the company’s latest flagship product, the high-point of its portable vaporizer lineup. It comes with loads of new bells and whistles, a new and distinctive design, and one of the fastest heat-up times on the market.
But – and here’s where the rubber hits the tarmac – it costs around $100 more than the already brilliant Mighty+ vaporizer which, of course, begs the question: is the Venty vaporizer worth all that extra dosh?
Here’s what you need to know (based on my experience as someone that owns and has used both vaporizers extensively)…

My Take: Why the Mighty+ Still Reigns Supreme
For fans of simplicity and reliability, the Mighty+ is a dream. It has all the essentials and performs like a champ. The vapor quality is excellent, the battery life lasts around 6-8 sessions, and the durability is unmatched—no need to fuss with apps or extra settings. Plus, it’s the only vaporizer certified for medical use and it costs $100 less than the Venty.
- Reliability Lovers: Those who want consistent performance without all the tech.
- Simplicity Seekers: No app, just turn it on and enjoy.
- Flavor Fans: Dense, flavorful vapor that doesn’t mess around.
Me? I’m not a massive fan of the idea that introducing more and more technology inside products is the simplest way to make it better. That goes for cars, phones, and weed vaporizers.
The Venty is an impressive piece of kit, as you’d expect from a brand like Storz & Bickel, but the thing you’re paying more for – generally speaking – is its new, fancier abilities. Things like its app-based controls, for instance, that I can totally and happily live without.
And these fancier features come with their own set of problems: the Venty is not reliable, there has been recalls and myriad problems with it since launch.
For instance, with the Mighty+ you DO NOT need a phone to do anything; it’s all done on the device itself. I like that about it. I spend enough time looking at my phone like a doink, I don’t need any more excuses to do it.
Now, there are other improvements – the faster heat-up time; the Venty will do a full bowl in 20 seconds – and the airflow, now adjustable, is definitely more nuanced and interesting. But is it worth an extra $100? I don’t think so. Not when the Mighty+ is still as good as ever.
For me, the bottom line here is simple: if you like to tinker and mess around with settings and you want to do it from a phone app, and you’d also like faster heat-up times, sure, get the Venty – it is bloody fantastic.
But… if you want to save yourself some cash and get better value for money, as well as some of the best vapor production you’ll ever experience on a portable, go with the Mighty+.
The Case For The Venty Vaporizer…
Why You’d Buy The Venty:
- Tech Enthusiasts: Those who want to control every aspect of their session.
- Travelers: Its smaller, portable design is a bonus.
- Fast-Paced Users: The quick heat-up time means you’re good to go almost instantly.
If you’re eyeing the Venty for its tech upgrades, let’s break down what you’re really getting for that extra $100.
First up: Superior Airflow. Storz & Bickel gave the Venty a major airflow boost—double what the Mighty+ offers. This means smoother, lighter hits that feel effortless, especially if you prefer gentler draws.
And with the Venty’s adjustable airflow wheel, you can fine-tune your experience to get exactly the kind of vapor you’re after. It’s impressive, no doubt, but honestly, I don’t find myself missing it on the Mighty+. The Mighty+ airflow is fixed, yes, but it’s just as consistent and satisfying.
Then there’s the heat-up time. The Venty’s ready to go in 20 seconds flat, compared to the Mighty+ which takes about a minute.
Now, if you’re in a rush or just hate waiting, this is definitely a plus.
Why Was The Venty Vaporizer Recalled?
Storz & Bickel hasn’t directly explained the reason behind the Venty’s recall, but there’s speculation it may involve a risk of overheating, which could potentially lead to fire hazards. Although there have been no confirmed reports of this happening, the company took precautions by rendering the units inoperable, preventing them from charging, heating up, or even turning on.
The Venty’s ultra-fast heat-up time likely adds to these concerns. Since it’s a battery-powered vaporizer that heats up quickly, there’s a higher risk of overheating, which is a known safety issue with similar devices like vape pens that use 510 batteries.
These devices reach high temperatures in a short time, which increases energy transfer and can lead to dangerous situations if not managed carefully.
On a more positive note: this issue has now been completely resolved, so there’s no need to worry about it anymore – it only affected the very first batch of Venty vaporizers.
But let’s be real—I’m not in such a hurry that I can’t spare 40 extra seconds. For me, the Mighty+ still heats up fast enough to get the job done without me tapping my foot.
Finally, battery efficiency. The Venty can push out around 12 bowls per charge, slightly more than the Mighty+, especially if you keep it at lower temps. If you’re out and about all day, this could be handy, but realistically, both vapes give solid battery life for extended sessions.
So, is the Venty worth the extra cash? For some, sure—if you love fiddling with settings, need ultra-fast heat-ups, and appreciate a little more control over your draw, you’ll probably dig the Venty. But for $100 less, the Mighty+ still hits every mark that matters: solid airflow, killer vapor quality, and battery life that lasts.
Final Thoughts / Things To Keep In Mind…
- Battery: While it’s non-replaceable, the battery still offers a solid 12 sessions per charge.
- Complexity: The app and advanced features add a layer of complexity that may feel overwhelming for some.
I know I’ve been a bit tough on the Venty here, but don’t get me wrong: it’s an excellent vaporizer—one of the best I’ve tested. The only issue? The price feels a little high, even for Storz & Bickel.
From what I’ve gathered while using the Venty, the Mighty+ just makes more sense for most people. It’s cheaper, and you’re still getting around 90% of the performance. That’s why, at the moment, I’d still recommend the Mighty+ over the Venty.
Now, if you don’t mind the extra cost for the faster heat-up, app control, and adjustable airflow, by all means, go for the Venty—it’s fantastic.
But if saving cash while getting nearly the same performance sounds better, the Mighty+ is hard to beat.
But if customization, rapid heat-up, and a modern design are calling your name, the Venty is definitely worth the investment if it isn’t too much of a stretch.
Either way, both devices are excellent — you just need to decide what matters most to you (and how much you’re comfortable spending). And if you do need cheaper alternatives, check out my guide to this year’s best weed vaporizers – it covers all price brackets from budget to high-end.
