I really, really like the Mi-Pod Pro Plus. But I also love the UWELL Caliburn G3. Next to the Vaporesso XROS Pro, I think it might just be the best pod you can buy right now.

The MTL draw is superb. The coils and flavor are very, very good – although neither last as long as they do on the XROS Pro.

The Mi-Pod Pro+ (as it is actually branded), is more of a style-piece. It hits all the right notes (and is a favorite with the ladies too).

But can it match the Caliburn G3? I tested both – extensively – to find out.

The Mi-Pod feels solid — almost chunky in the hand. That weight gives it a “built-like-a-brick” feel and, despite its 71g weight, it still cuts a very compact figure.

The textured finishes look slick (Carbon Fiber is my personal pick), and the visible juice window is a nice touch.

But… the pod popping out when dropped? That’s a real issue. It’s happened to me more than once. It’s not a dealbreaker, but definitely a mark against it.

The Caliburn G3 doesn’t just look better — it feels better. This thing is sleek, minimal, and engineered with that kind of precision you usually only get from higher-end gear.

It’s what I’d call “premium lightweight.” At just 47g, it’s noticeably lighter than most pod systems in its class — especially compared to chunkier setups like the Mi-Pod Pro Plus.

But here’s the kicker: it still feels solid in the hand.

Not flimsy, not toy-like. Just light enough to disappear in your pocket, yet balanced enough that it doesn’t feel cheap or hollow.

Build quality is spot-on too. No pod-wiggle, no rattles, no loose fittings. Everything clicks and slides into place exactly how it should.

It feels like UWELL took their time refining every part of the G3 — from the airflow toggles to the button feedback, it’s just a tighter, more mature design overall.

And for real-world, daily use? The weight savings and slim profile make it a dream carry. You can throw it in your jeans, hoodie, bag — whatever — and you barely notice it’s there.

It’s discreet without being delicate. A proper all-day device that feels like it was made for life on the move.

Battery size is bigger on paper (950mAh), and it holds up well for a fixed-voltage device. You’ll get a solid day of medium vaping. But there’s no passthrough charging — so when it’s dead, you’re done until it’s charged again.

Caliburn G3

It technically has a smaller battery (900mAh), but the difference is tiny. Plus, fast-charging and passthrough make a huge difference in real-life use. I regularly top up in 30 minutes while still using it — awesome for heavy users.

Flavor & Vapor Production

Flavor is solid — good saturation and warmth, especially with nic salts. But it’s a one-trick pony. There’s no airflow adjustment, so you’re stuck with a loose MTL or borderline restricted DTL. If you’re picky about draw style, this will frustrate you.

This is where the G3 really shines. The mesh coils slap — particularly the 0.6Ω coil, which hits harder and brings out deeper flavor tones. The adjustable wattage and dual airflow mean you can fine-tune the experience whether you like smooth MTL or a more open RDTL hit.
