My GO-TO Wintergreen Nicotine Pouch Brands (For Last 12+ Months)

Since 2023, I’ve made my way through every major nicotine pouch brand operating in the United States, and a bunch in Europe too.

I’ve tried mango pouches, berry ones, tobacco flavors, and a myriad of mint-based options. But my go-to for the past 12+ months, the flavor I use daily, is wintergreen.

It’s minty, it’s sweet, and it has a tang that I really like.

And the best Wintergreen pouch I’ve found?

And when it comes to which brand makes the best wintergreen nicotine pouch, there’s basically two in contention:

  • ALP Pouch: it’s wintergreen is brilliant and for a good long while was all I used. Available in 3mg, 6mg, and 9mg, it is one of the cleanest-tasting pouches around.
  • FRE Nicotine Pouches: FRE’s wintergreen tastes more or less identical to ALP’s (they’re owned by the same company, Turning Point Brands). The difference with FRE’s pouches (and the main reason I use them) is that they have higher nicotine options – specifically 12mg and 15mg.

I switch between brand interchangeably, I’ve got piles of each in my office, but if you have to go with just one, here’s how it breaks down:

If wintergreen is not your thang, go with either chilled mint or mint. Again, FRE and ALP both do excellent standard mint pouches.

Wintergreen can be a little divisive; it does have a somewhat medicinal taste to it. I love it. But I know plenty of folks that don’t. If that’s you, keep it locked to a classic mint flavor.

Need an assist with flavors? Here’s a quick breakdown of the best FRE nicotine pouch flavors (based on a survey of 40,000 users) and here’s another one we did for ALP Pouch flavors.

Fun Fact:

Wintergreen is the flavor they use in root beer and old-school pain relief creams — but in a pouch? It’s like chewing a cold breeze.

If you’re new to nic pouches, take this advice to heart: Don’t get cute with the flavors.

Fruity, spicy, coffee… all sound great until you’re 2 minutes in and wondering if you just licked a nicotine-soaked candle.

Stick with the mint-based flavors to start with; they’re the most popular for a reason.

Wrapping Up…

Nicotine pouches aren’t for flavor chasers. They’re for function. But if you’re gonna use them, at least get one that doesn’t taste like battery acid.

ALP Wintergreen is the only pouch I’ve actually looked forward to using — and that’s saying something.

FAQ

What are nicotine pouches made of?
Cellulose fibers, nicotine, flavoring, and sweeteners. No tobacco, no combustion, no spitting required.

Are Wintergreen pouches stronger than other flavors?
Not necessarily stronger in nicotine, but definitely stronger in flavor — especially if you’re sensitive to minty kicks.

How long do ALP Wintergreen pouches last?
I get a solid 30-45 minutes per pouch before the flavor fades. Pretty solid compared to most brands.

Is ALP better than ZYN?
In my opinion? 100%. Especially for Wintergreen. ALP’s smoother, longer-lasting, and doesn’t leave that weird film in your mouth.
