Which Geek Bar Should You Buy?

For most people, the choice comes down to the smaller, cheaper Pulse 2 25K or the longer-lasting and more powerful Pulse X 2 50K.

My Recommendation

Buy the Pulse 2 25K if you want something smaller, cheaper and easy to carry. Move up to the Pulse X 2 50K if battery life, coil power and the larger curved screen matter more.

The Mate 60K makes more sense if you would rather replace a pod than throw away the complete battery and screen every time the e-liquid runs out.

For most people, I would start with the Pulse 2 25K or Pulse X 2 50K.

  • The Pulse 2 is smaller, cheaper and easier to live with.
  • The Pulse X 2 lasts longer, has a more powerful coil and gives you a larger curved screen.

The Mate 60K makes more sense if you vape heavily and do not want to throw away the main battery every time the e-liquid runs out.

Geek Barโ€™s US range used to be easy to follow. You had the original Pulse, the larger Pulse X and a choice of flavours.

That is very much not the case anymore.

The range now includes regular disposables, ultra-high-puff models, replaceable pod systems and even a desktop e-hookah. Puff ratings run from 12,000 to 80,000, batteries range from 650mAh to 1,500mAh and some devices have three power modes rather than two.

So, which one should you buy?

This guide compares the hardware and specifications across Geek Barโ€™s current US-facing range. It is not a ranking based on my personal favourites. For that, see my separate guide to the best Geek Bars I have tested.

This page has a different job. It shows you what each Geek Bar is, what you get for your money and how the numbers compare.

Note: Cost-per-1,000 figures use the maximum advertised puff totals. Real-world results depend on draw length, power mode and how the device is used.

A Note About Cost Per 1,000 Puffs

These figures use the manufacturerโ€™s highest advertised puff rating and the approximate price shown above:

Price รท maximum puff rating ร— 1,000

For example:

$25.99 รท 50,000 ร— 1,000 = approximately $0.52 per 1,000 advertised puffs

This is useful for comparing headline value, but do not mistake it for a laboratory-grade running-cost calculation.

Puff figures depend on:

  • Draw length
  • Power mode
  • Airflow
  • Coil resistance
  • Battery voltage
  • How frequently you vape
  • How the manufacturer conducts its puff test

A tiny machine-tested puff is not the same as a long human draw. The 80,000-puff Geek Bar will not necessarily last more than five times longer than a Pulse 15K in normal use.

For a closer look at the numbers, see our Geek Bar puff-count comparison.

Geek Bar Power Modes And Puff Ratings

Geek Bar Puff Counts By Power Mode

Somax 80K None 80,000 Boosted rating not clearly stated
Burj 80K 80,000 in Eco Around 60,000 Around 40,000 in Pulse

Important: These are advertised maximum puff counts, not guaranteed real-world totals. Higher-power modes produce more vapour per draw and reduce the estimated puff count considerably.

Pulse Mode increases coil output. You get:

  • Warmer vapour
  • Denser clouds
  • Stronger flavour
  • Faster e-liquid use
  • A lower total puff rating

Regular Mode is the sensible everyday setting. Pulse Mode is there when you want the device to hit harder.

The Burj works differently because it adds a third Eco setting. Its maximum 80,000-puff claim applies to Eco Mode rather than Regular Mode.

Best forFirst-time Geek Bar buyers and people who change flavours regularly

The original Pulse remains the simplest place to start.

It has a smaller battery than the newer devices, but it is also relatively compact and normally costs less. Its biggest advantage is flavour choice. The original Pulse has been around longer than the other current models and has accumulated a huge collection of standard, Frozen, Sour, Mintz, B-Pop and themed flavours.

Regular Mode stretches the device to its advertised 15,000-puff ceiling. Switching to Pulse Mode roughly halves that claim but gives you warmer vapour and a much harder hit.

The 650mAh battery is its obvious weak point. It is enough to make the device pocketable, but heavy users will charge it more frequently than a Pulse X 2 or Mate.

Buy it if: You want a cheap introduction to Geek Bar, you like changing flavours or you do not need 50,000 advertised puffs.

Avoid it if: Battery capacity and cost per puff matter more than upfront price.

Best forPeople who want a smaller, softer-drawing Geek Bar

The Meloso Max 2 is a slightly odd fit in the 2026 lineup.

It has the same 16ml capacity and 650mAh battery size as the original Pulse, yet its highest advertised rating is 12,000 puffs. On pure puff-per-dollar maths, it gets beaten comfortably by the newer Pulse models.

That is not really the point of it.

The Meloso Max 2 uses a higher-resistance 1.1-ohm dual-mesh coil and is built around a smoother, slightly less aggressive vape. It also gets an adjustable airflow dial and a Ripple full-screen display.

This is the model for someone who prefers the smaller Meloso format and does not want the heavier output of a Pulse X.

  • Buy it if: You prefer a smoother MTL-style draw and a smaller device.
  • Avoid it if: Your main priority is maximum puff count or value for money.

Best forExisting Pulse users who want a sensible upgrade

The Pulse 2 is the original Pulse formula with most of its obvious weaknesses fixed.

Battery capacity increases from 650mAh to 800mAh. E-liquid rises from 16ml to 18ml. The Regular Mode rating moves from 15,000 to 25,000 puffs, while Pulse Mode increases from 7,500 to 15,000.

It also introduces Geek Barโ€™s raised dome screen. The display shows battery level, remaining e-liquid and the selected power mode without using the larger curved chassis found on the Pulse X series.

This is probably the least confusing Geek Bar to recommend. It does everything most people need, costs less than the flagship and is not absurdly large.

  • Buy it if: You like the original Pulse and want better battery life, more e-liquid and more puffs without moving to a much larger device.
  • Avoid it if: You want the biggest screen, longest life or lowest possible cost per puff.

Best forBuyers who want the curved-screen design without paying for the X 2

The Pulse X introduced the huge curved display that now defines Geek Barโ€™s more expensive disposables.

Its maximum puff rating is identical to the Pulse 2, but the two devices do not feel identical. The Pulse X uses a lower-resistance coil, a wider chassis and more open airflow. It produces a larger, warmer draw, especially in Pulse Mode.

The display wraps around the side of the body and shows battery level, e-liquid level and active mode through Geek Barโ€™s animated Star UI.

Some versions also include Soft, Normal and Pulse output settings, although packaging and firmware can vary between editions.

The problem in 2026 is the Pulse X 2. If the two are only separated by a few dollars, buying the older Pulse X becomes hard to justify. The X 2 doubles the Regular Mode claim and increases the battery to 1,000mAh.

The original still makes sense when discounted.

  • Buy it if: You find it below $20 and want a hard-hitting Geek Bar with a curved display.
  • Avoid it if: The Pulse X 2 is only a few dollars more.

Best forHeavy users wanting the best standard Geek Bar disposable

The Pulse X 2 is Geek Barโ€™s current flagship in the normal handheld disposable format.

The e-liquid capacity remains at 18ml, but the advertised Regular Mode rating doubles from 25,000 to 50,000 puffs. Geek Bar attributes this to its updated VPU power management, wicking material and coil assembly.

You also get a larger 1,000mAh high-voltage cell, fast USB-C charging and a revised Galaxy Cascade interface.

Pulse Mode cuts the advertised rating to 25,000 puffs, which is still equal to the older Pulse X running in its most efficient setting.

It is the best direct replacement for the original Pulse X, but there is one catch: 50,000 puffs is a long time to spend with one flavour. If you frequently get bored halfway through a disposable, buying a larger one does not save you anything.

  • Buy it if: You vape heavily, already know which Geek Bar flavour you like and want the strongest standard disposable in the range.
  • Avoid it if: You prefer changing flavours every few days.

Best forAnyone who distrusts digital e-liquid gauges

The CLRโ€™s defining feature is right there in the name: clear.

Instead of relying entirely on a digital e-liquid indicator, part of the 17ml reservoir is visible. You can physically see how much liquid remains.

That is more useful than it sounds. Digital e-liquid gauges in disposables are estimates based on puff behaviour and power use. They are not tiny fuel sensors measuring the tank with laboratory accuracy.

The CLR also offers Regular and Pulse modes, a 900mAh battery, adjustable airflow and the same 50,000/25,000 puff split as the Pulse X 2.

It lacks the X 2โ€™s 3D curved display and 1,000mAh cell, but it can be noticeably cheaper.

  • Buy it if: You want a high-puff disposable and prefer seeing the actual reservoir.
  • Avoid it if: You want Geek Barโ€™s best screen and larger battery.

Best forPeople who want three power modes and replaceable pods

The Clio Platinum sits somewhere between a disposable and a normal prefilled pod vape.

The base contains a 900mAh rechargeable battery, while the replaceable pod contributes another 500mAh. When the 16ml pod is finished, you retain the base and attach another prefilled Clio pod.

It is also one of the few Geek Bars with three power settings:

  • Regular: up to 50,000 puffs
  • Pulse: up to 25,000 puffs
  • Super Pulse: up to 20,000 puffs

The 360-degree dual display wraps information around the pod and shows battery and e-liquid status. Airflow is adjustable, and the clear pod gives you another way to check the remaining liquid.

The Clio is now overshadowed by the Mate 60K, but discounted replacement pods can make it cheap to keep running.

  • Buy it if: You already own the Clio base, find discounted pods or want a replaceable system with three modes.
  • Avoid it if: You are starting from scratch and can buy the newer Mate 60K for similar money.

Best forRegular users wanting lower replacement costs

The Mate 60K is the most sensible Geek Bar for someone who buys these devices repeatedly.

You keep the main 900mAh battery and replace the transparent prefilled pod. Each pod contains its own coil, e-liquid and small 200mAh supporting battery.

A full kit costs around $26.99. Once you own the base, replacement pods cost around $19.99. Using the advertised Regular Mode rating, that drops the cost to approximately $0.33 per 1,000 puffs.

It also reduces the number of larger battery units you discard, although the pods still contain electronics, a coil and a smaller battery. This is not the same as using a basic refillable pod tank.

The Mate has Regular and Pulse settings, adjustable airflow and the Dynamic Galaxy UI. The display communicates between the pod and base to show battery, e-liquid and active mode.

  • Buy it if: You vape regularly, have settled on a few Geek Bar flavours and want lower repeat costs.
  • Avoid it if: You frequently change brands or only buy disposables occasionally.

Best forMaximum capacity at the lowest headline cost

The Somax takes the brute-force approach.

It combines two reservoirs for a reported total capacity of 36ml, which is double the e-liquid carried by a Pulse X 2. That is how it reaches its 80,000-puff claim despite using a fairly ordinary 820mAh rechargeable battery.

You get Normal and Pulse modes, adjustable airflow and a large screen showing the deviceโ€™s status.

At around $25.99, the headline cost works out at approximately $0.32 per 1,000 advertised puffs, the lowest of any sealed Geek Bar in this guide.

Availability is less consistent than the Pulse range, though. Check the nicotine strength and packaging carefully because Somax versions can vary between markets.

  • Buy it if: You want the largest possible e-liquid capacity and are happy committing to one flavour.
  • Avoid it if: You want something genuinely pocket-friendly or widely stocked.

Best forLower-nicotine DTL vaping at a desk or at home

The Burj is not a normal disposable vape.

It is a larger e-hookah built for direct-to-lung inhales, open airflow and bigger clouds. The shape is based on a miniature hookah tower rather than something designed to disappear inside your jeans pocket.

Its 0.4-ohm dual-mesh coil is much lower in resistance than the coils used by regular nicotine-salt Geek Bars. The reviewed version also uses 0.5% nicotine rather than the usual 5%. That lower concentration makes sense because a DTL draw produces far more vapour per puff.

There are three modes:

  • Eco for the maximum 80,000-puff rating
  • Regular for a balance of vapour and battery use
  • Pulse for larger, warmer clouds

The 1,500mAh battery is the biggest in this guide, while the 25ml reservoir sits between the Pulse X 2 and Somax.

Be careful when buying because some third-party listings incorrectly describe the Burj as a 5% device. Check the strength printed on the actual packaging before ordering or using it.

  • Buy it if: You want a lower-nicotine, open-airflow device for longer sessions at home.
  • Avoid it if: You want a conventional 5% MTL disposable or something small enough for a pocket.

Read my complete Geek Bar Burj 80K review

Which Geek Bar Has The Most Puffs?

The Somax and Burj both carry maximum claims of up to 80,000 puffs, but they achieve them differently.

  • Somax 80K: Uses a 36ml dual-reservoir design
  • Burj 80K: Uses a 25ml reservoir and reaches 80,000 in its lowest-power Eco Mode
  • Mate 60K: 60,000 per replacement pod in Regular Mode
  • Pulse X 2 and CLR: 50,000 in Regular Mode
  • Pulse 2 and Pulse X: 25,000 in Regular Mode
  • Pulse: 15,000 in Regular Mode
  • Meloso Max 2: 12,000 in Regular Mode

The device with the largest advertised number is not automatically the one I would buy.

Beyond a certain point, you have to ask whether you actually want to use the same flavour for that long. A 25,000-puff device you finish is better value than an 80,000-puff device you abandon after a week because the flavour is doing your head in.

Which Geek Bar Has The Biggest Battery?

ModelBattery capacity
Burj 80K1,500mAh
Clio Platinum1,400mAh combined
Mate 60K1,100mAh combined
Pulse X 21,000mAh
CLR 50K900mAh
Pulse X820mAh
Somax 80K820mAh
Pulse 2800mAh
Pulse 15K650mAh
Meloso Max 2650mAh

Battery capacity cannot be judged on its own.

The Burj needs a larger cell because it runs a low-resistance DTL coil. The Clio and Mate figures combine batteries in two connected parts. Coil resistance, display size, power mode and firmware all affect how long a charge lasts.

Which Geek Bar Has The Most E-Liquid?

ModelE-liquid capacity
Somax 80K36ml
Burj 80K25ml
Pulse 218ml
Pulse X18ml
Pulse X 218ml
CLR 50K17ml
Pulse 15K16ml
Meloso Max 216ml
Clio Platinum16ml per pod
Mate 60K15ml per pod

This table also shows why puff ratings need to be handled carefully.

The Pulse X 2 claims 50,000 puffs from 18ml. The Mate claims 60,000 from 15ml. The Somax uses 36ml to claim 80,000.

Those numbers are based on different coils, power profiles and internal tests. They are not directly comparable in the way miles per gallon or battery endurance from a controlled test would be.

Which Geek Bar Has Adjustable Airflow?

Every major model covered here offers some form of airflow control, but the implementation differs.

  • Pulse, Pulse 2, Pulse X and Pulse X 2 use a bottom adjustment control
  • Meloso Max 2 uses an airflow dial
  • CLR uses an adjustable switch
  • Mate uses an airflow ring at the base
  • Clio uses adjustable airflow built into the kit
  • Somax uses a dual-airflow system
  • Burj uses stepless top airflow

The Burj provides the widest and most open draw because it is designed for DTL vaping. The Pulse range sits closer to MTL and restricted-direct-lung territory.

Disposable Or Pod System: Which Geek Bar Is Better?

Choose a sealed disposable if:

  • You want the simplest option
  • You do not want to buy a separate device
  • You switch between brands frequently
  • You only use disposables occasionally
  • You want the widest flavour choice

Choose the Mate or Clio pod system if:

  • You buy Geek Bars regularly
  • You want to retain the main battery
  • You want cheaper replacement pods
  • You have already settled on your preferred flavours
  • You do not mind being tied to one pod platform

The Mate is the better new purchase. The Clio still makes sense for existing owners or when its pods are heavily discounted.

Neither one is a conventional refillable pod vape. You cannot fill the pod with bottled e-liquid. When the prefilled pod is empty, you replace the complete pod assembly.

My Recommendation

Pick the model that matches how often you vape, how much you want to spend and whether you want a sealed disposable or replaceable pods.

What I Would Buy

best geek bar vape to buyPin

For most people, the Pulse 2 25K makes the most sense.

It improves the original Pulse without turning into a massive pocket brick. You get an 800mAh battery, 18ml of e-liquid, adjustable airflow, a proper full-screen display and up to 25,000 advertised puffs.

  • If you vape heavily and do not mind staying with one flavour for longer, move up to the Pulse X 2 50K.
  • If you buy Geek Bars constantly, skip both and look at the Mate 60K. The kit costs more initially, but replacement pods bring the advertised cost per 1,000 puffs down.

The Burj is its own thing. It is not a better Pulse X 2. It is a lower-nicotine DTL e-hookah designed for larger clouds and longer sessions.
