The Vaporesso XROS 3 is a brilliant pod vape; we called it the best pod of 2023 in our review. Part of the reason we rate this pod vape so highly, aside from its flavor and overall performance, relates to its coils: they’re brilliant, both with respect to flavor and overall longevity. 

If you’re thinking about getting this pod, you probably want to know specifics, though, right? Well, let’s unpack things a little bit because, as with most things related to vape coils, it’s not simply a case of X coil lasting X amount of time. Variables exist, and you should know about these before buying. 

How Long Do Vaporesso XROS 3 Coils Last

I’ve owned several XROS 3 pod vapes over the past couple of years and, generally speaking, the coil performance and reliability, as well as the dub and/or failure rate, has been very, very consistent which is good. You want consistent coils that are reliable and produce the same results time and time again. 

The XROS 3’s coils run on Vaporesso’s highly regarded COREX Heating Tech which, as the same suggests, regulates and manages heat on the coils in a more effective manner. This results in a more even vape, more consistency with respect to day to day performance, and it is kinder to the coils which means, all things being equal, they last longer.

I predominantly use the XROS 3’s 1.0 ohm MTL coil because, well… I’m an MTL freak and have been for years. This coil, for me, is what you should use in the XROS 3; it feels like the pod was designed around this coil and resistance, and then the 0.6 ohm coil was thrown in as an afterthought. 

With the MTL coils, the longest-lasting one I’ve had to date ran for 18 days without losing any flavor. On day 20, it was dead. But 19 days of heavy vaping with sweet, fruity nic salts vape juice is damn impressive. And the shortest lasting coil? Just shy of a week and half. Again, that’s still pretty damn good. 

Vaporesso XROS 3 Coil Options

• 1 x XROS series 1.0-ohm mesh pod (in box)

With the 0.6ohm mesh coils, you’re looking at a maximum of two weeks and a minimum of 1.5 weeks. Again, results may vary. I’ve had a 0.6ohm XROS 3 coil crap out after 5 days but that only happened once. With SMOK pods, this kind of thing is a regular occurrence, so this, again, shows just how good Vaporesso’s coil tech is these days.
