How Long Do Vaporesso XROS 3 Coils LastPin

How long do Vaporesso XROS 3 coils last? Here’s everything you need to know from someone that has been using the pod vape for over two years straight…

The Vaporesso XROS 3 is a brilliant pod vape; we called it the best pod of 2023 in our review. Part of the reason we rate this pod vape so highly, aside from its flavor and overall performance, relates to its coils: they’re brilliant, both with respect to flavor and overall longevity.

If you’re thinking about getting this pod, you probably want to know specifics, though, right? Well, let’s unpack things a little bit because, as with most things related to vape coils, it’s not simply a case of X coil lasting X amount of time. Variables exist, and you should know about these before buying.

[TL;DR] Key Takeaways ⌛

  • Reliability and Consistency are Key: I’ve been using the XROS 3 for 18+ months, and I can’t emphasize enough how reliable and consistent its coils are compared to nearly every one of my other pod vapes. It literally puts them to shame.
  • The COREX Heating Tech Advantage: XROS 3 uses Vaporesso’s COREX Heating Tech in its coils, and it’s a game-changer. It ensures heat is managed efficiently, making my vaping experience smoother and more even. Plus, it’s kinder to the coils, making them last longer.
  • I’m a 1.0 ohm MTL Coil Fan: I’ve been an MTL vaper for years, and the XROS 3’s 1.0 ohm MTL coil is my go-to. It feels like the pod was specifically designed for this coil and resistance.
  • MTL Coil Life is Impressive: I’ve had a 1.0 ohm MTL coil last for a whopping 19 days of heavy vaping with my sweet, fruity nic salt e-juice, without any loss in flavor. Even on the lower end, I’m looking at a good week and a half of use, which is still great.
  • 0.6 ohm Coil Life is Decent: With the 0.6 ohm mesh coils, I get around 1.5 to 2 weeks of usage. I had one coil give out on me after just 5 days, but that’s a rare instance. Compared to other brands like SMOK, this kind of longevity is a testament to Vaporesso’s superior coil tech.

I’ve owned several XROS 3 pod vapes over the past couple of years and, generally speaking, the coil performance and reliability, as well as the dub and/or failure rate, has been very, very consistent which is good. You want consistent coils that are reliable and produce the same results time and time again.

The XROS 3’s coils run on Vaporesso’s highly regarded COREX Heating Tech which, as the same suggests, regulates and manages heat on the coils in a more effective manner. This results in a more even vape, more consistency with respect to day to day performance, and it is kinder to the coils which means, all things being equal, they last longer.

Best Nic Salt Juice For Vaporesso XROS 3Pin

I predominantly use the XROS 3’s 1.0 ohm MTL coil because, well… I’m an MTL freak and have been for years. This coil, for me, is what you should use in the XROS 3; it feels like the pod was designed around this coil and resistance, and then the 0.6 ohm coil was thrown in as an afterthought.

With the MTL coils, the longest-lasting one I’ve had to date ran for 18 days without losing any flavor. On day 20, it was dead. But 19 days of heavy vaping with sweet, fruity nic salts vape juice is damn impressive. And the shortest lasting coil? Just shy of a week and half. Again, that’s still pretty damn good.

Vaporesso XROS 3 Coil Options

  • 1 x XROS series 0.6-ohm mesh pod (pre-installed)
  • 1 x XROS series 1.0-ohm mesh pod (in box)

With the 0.6ohm mesh coils, you’re looking at a maximum of two weeks and a minimum of 1.5 weeks. Again, results may vary. I’ve had a 0.6ohm XROS 3 coil crap out after 5 days but that only happened once. With SMOK pods, this kind of thing is a regular occurrence, so this, again, shows just how good Vaporesso’s coil tech is these days.

If you’re new to vaping and want to learn more about getting the most out of your Vaporesso XROS 3’s coils, there’s plenty of additional stuff you can do to ensure you’re getting the best possible performance from them. Let’s now go over some basic coil maintenance and setup tips, so you can squeeze out the maximum amount of performance from your XROS 3 coils.

How To Make XROS 3 Coils Last Longer

Frequency of Use

The lifespan of your coil heavily depends on how frequently you use your device. If you’re a heavy vaper, your coils will need replacing more frequently compared to someone who vapes less often. The more frequently the coil is heated and cooled, the quicker the metal will degrade and thus, reduce its lifespan.

Type of E-liquid

The type of e-liquid you use can also significantly affect your coils’ lifespan. For instance, e-liquids that are high in sugar can cause faster coil degradation due to gunk buildup, as the sugar caramelizes and sticks to the coil. The more viscous or thicker the e-liquid, the harder your coil has to work, which can also shorten its lifespan. Furthermore, darker e-liquids can leave more residue on the coil than lighter ones.

Wattage Settings

The power setting of your device can also impact coil life. Using your Vaporesso Xros 3 at a higher wattage will produce more heat in the coil, which can lead to faster degradation of the coil’s material. Conversely, using a lower wattage can prolong the coil’s life but might compromise the quality of the vape cloud and flavor intensity.

Proper maintenance of your device is essential for the longevity of your coils. Regular cleaning of the device and proper priming of new coils can help them last longer. Priming a coil involves adding a few drops of e-liquid to the coil and allowing it to soak in before starting to vape. This process prevents dry hits and helps the coil last longer.

Signs Your Coil Need Replacing

It’s essential to recognize when your coil needs to be replaced. Some signs that your coil may need changing include:

  • Reduced flavor or vapor production: If your device isn’t producing as much vapor as usual, or if the flavor seems off or muted, it may be time to change the coil.
  • Burnt taste: If you get a harsh, burnt taste when vaping, it’s likely your coil is spent. This taste comes from the wicking material in the coil getting too dry or the coil getting gunked up.
  • Leaking: If your device is leaking e-liquid, it may be due to a worn-out coil. Leaking can occur when the coil isn’t able to vaporize the e-liquid effectively anymore.
  • Visible gunk: If you can see dark gunk built up on your coil, it’s time for a change. This gunk is usually residue from your e-liquid and can impair the performance of your device.

To ensure that you’re getting the most out of your Vaporesso Xros 3, it’s vital to keep an eye on your coil’s health and replace it as needed. Coil longevity varies among vapers based on personal habits, e-liquid choice, and care of the device. Understanding these variables can help you optimize coil life and enhance your overall vaping experience.
