Mighty+ Vaporizer Review: Is The Hype 100% Legit?

It’s the ONLY vaporizer endorsed by medical professionals, but is the Mighty+ all its cracked up to be? I’ve had one since it launched – here’s my 2 cents…

For many, myself included, the Mighty+ is the benchmark by which all other portable weed vaporizers are measured.

I used the OG Mighty for years and then upgraded to the Mighty+ as soon as it launched – it fixed a few big pain points for me (like USB-C charging, faster charging). 

There are now some truly viable alternatives available, of course, notably the AirVape Legacy Pro, which deliver similar levels of performance at a lower price point, and Storz & Bickel’s new flagship vaporizer, the Venty.

However, the Venty is NOT without its problems.

But for me, the Mighty+ is in a different league, almost all by itself, because it comes with that all-important Storz & Bickel assurance of quality.

I’ve used its Volcano, the Crafty and Crafty+, the Mighty and now the Mighty+, and they’ve all worked hiccup-free for years on end.

Other similarly-specced vaporizers in my collection, however, generally tend to poop the bed after 12 to 18 months.

OK, that’s the intro spiel over.

Now, let’s get into what the Mighty+ brings to the table over its predecessor, the Mighty, and why you might a) want to upgrade or B) get one if you’re looking at buying a new vaporizer.

Is The Mighty+ Worth It?

The OG Mighty was a beast, both from the way it looked to how it performed. I ran mine for years, alongside smaller, more portable vapes from DaVinci and Pax.

But the Mighty was always my beloved, the vaporizer I used when I wanted the best possible session. 

However, it wasn’t without its issues. Now, most of the “problems” it had or developed were based on its age.

As a product gets older and the market develops, certain things start to feel amiss. 

Tech changes too. Things like USB C weren’t really a thing when the Mighty first launched.

Think of the Mighty+ then as something of a refresh, an evolution of what came before – it retains everything that made the OG model a legend, but adds in a whole load more features and improvements.

Here’s the biggest upgrades / new features I liked / noticed the most when I first made the switch. 

USB-C Charging

USB C is now the go-to charging tech for everything – even Apple has been forced to adopt it. Back when the Mighty launched, it used a propriety charging port, and like most proprietary charging ports it sucked a lot of balls. 

The Mighty+ now runs USB C which means it not only charges faster and more efficiently, but you can also charge it using the same cable you use to charge your phone. 

This makes traveling with the Mighty+ easier and less hassle and, perhaps even more importantly, it means you can get it charged back up significantly faster than before. 

It doesn’t run a removable battery, so there’s no hot-swapping batteries (as you can do on the AirVape Legacy Pro) so you want the fastest possible charging speeds you can get your hands on, and right now this is USB C. 

Ceramic-Coated Chamber

The transition from an aluminum chamber to a ceramic-coated chamber in the Mighty+ is a significant enhancement that elevates the entire vaping experience.

Ceramic is renowned for its inert properties, meaning it doesn’t react chemically with your herbs.

This neutrality preserves the pure, natural flavors of your material, ensuring that each draw is rich and untainted by any metallic aftertaste that can sometimes occur with aluminum chambers.

The ceramic surface also contributes to even heat distribution throughout the chamber.

This uniform heating ensures that your herbs are vaporized consistently, eliminating hot spots and preventing any material from being under- or over-heated.

As a result, you get the most out of your herbs, enjoying efficient vapor production without wasting any material.

When it comes to maintenance, the smoothness of the ceramic coating simplifies the cleaning process.

Residue and build-up are less likely to cling to the ceramic surface compared to aluminum, making it easier to wipe down and keep clean.

This not only saves you time but also helps maintain the device’s performance over the long term.

Additionally, the ceramic chamber helps prevent your herbs from “cooking” when the device isn’t in use.

Ceramic retains less residual heat once the heating element is turned off, allowing the chamber to cool down more quickly.

This rapid cooling reduces the chance of your herbs continuing to heat and potentially degrade in flavor or potency after you’ve finished your session.

Supercharge Functionality – Great, But Not Essential

Impatient? The optional supercharger powers the Mighty+ to 80% in just 40 minutes. That’s a significant improvement over the normal charging speed (it’s 90+ minutes).

That’s the good news. The bad news is that you’ll have to buy it separately and, while I do get the appeal, I’ve never been able to bring myself to buy one. 

Yes, the normal charging speed could be better. But there’s plenty of literature about the negative effects of fast-charging on the lifespan of lithium-ion batteries. 

And to be frank, I get more than enough battery life from the Mighty+ off a single charge as-is. If you can ALWAYS remember to stick it on charge when you’re finished or not using it, you’ll never really have to think or worry about battery life. 

I get around 8-10 sessions, on average, from a single charge which, generally, is more than enough for me – even if I’m doing a session with some buddies. 

Bottom line? The Super-Charger is nice. But I’d argue it is totally not essential. Save your money and buy some more bud instead. 

Faster Heat-Up Time

PAX has been banging on about its heat-up times for YEARS. Fast heat-up times are great, but the vapor quality is way more important.

I’d walk 20 miles for a date with Ana De Armas, for instance, whereas I wouldn’t do the same for some random off Tinder. Good things are worth waiting for. 

And with the OG Mighty, this used to be the case. But now the Mighty+ has solved this by massively improving the heat-up time – it’ll now heat up a full bowl in 60 seconds. 

If you’re curious, that’s around half the time it took the Mighty to heat up. And while this time is still slow compared to some newer vaporizers (we compared heat up times for the 19 most popular vaporizers here), it isn’t something that bothers me too much.

And the vapor quality? It’s better than ever, orders of magnitude better than the original Mighty, thanks to its new ceramic material.

If you’re coming from the older model, this is the biggest change you’ll notice. I literally could not believe how fast it heated up my first bowl. 

Enhanced User Experience

The Mighty+ looks pretty much the same as the OG model, but there are slight changes to the way it looks and its overall design. There’s also some new, rather handy settings that I enjoyed as well. 

Here’s a quick breakdown of the main design-focussed improvements over the Mighty: 

• Preset Booster Temperature: With a simple press, you can increase the temperature by 27°F, allowing for a more customized session.
• Improved Screen Brightness: The display is brighter and more vibrant, making it easier to read in various lighting conditions.
• Stable Design: New “legs” allow the Mighty+ to lean back securely, providing a stable platform during use.

Extended Warranty

Peace of mind is priceless, especially when you’re paying Storz & Bickel prices. The Mighty+ comes with a 2-year manufacturer warranty, plus an additional year when you register on the Storz & Bickel website. And if you want my advice, you’ll register yours as soon as you get it.

Mighty vs. Mighty Plus: A Side-By-Side Comparison

I’ve gone over all the aspects where the Mighty+ improves on the Mighty. But if you’re skimming this review (shame on you), here’s a handy table that outlines all the core improvements you get on the Mighty+. 

As you can see, the Mighty+ has the Mighty well and truly whipped.

Whichever way you slice it, as upgrades go the Mighty+ is one hell of a package. And best of all, kind of like what Apple does with iPhone, it doesn’t mess with the “core” things people love. 

Instead, S&B just implemented some much needed design changes and performance optimizations. 

Mighty+ Vaporizer Size: How Big Is It?

the Mighty+ is larger than your typical portable vaporizer, measuring 5.5″ x 3.2″ x 1.2″ and weighing in at about 230 grams.

So no, it’s not the kind of thing you’ll be casually slipping into your skinny jeans pocket.

Think of it more like carrying around a small paperback book—or if you’re feeling fancy, a first-edition hardcover.

It’s not going to win any awards for stealth, that’s for sure (that’s where the Crafty+ comes in).

But here’s the thing: with that size comes perks. You’re trading a bit of portability for way better battery life and superior performance.

Sure, it’s not the most discreet option if you’re hitting the town, but it’s perfect when you’re just chilling at home or hanging out with friends.

The Mighty+ is the kind of device you whip out when portability isn’t your main concern, but big clouds and long sessions are. And let’s be honest—sometimes that’s exactly what most of want and/or need.

Heating and Temperature Control

• Consistent Performance: Even in cold conditions, the Mighty+ holds its temperature like a champ.

The Mighty+ employs a hybrid heating system, blending the best of both conduction and convection. Translation? You get efficient, even vaporization every time—no need to bust out a stir stick halfway through your session.

Just pack it, hit it, and enjoy.

Temperature Range? You’ve got full control, anywhere from a mellow 105°F to a toasty 410°F. Whether you like your vapor cool and flavorful or hot and heavy, the Mighty+ has you covered.

Adjusting it is a breeze too—just hit the simple buttons, check the bright LED display, and fine-tune your experience to your exact liking.

And here’s the kicker: even when it’s freezing outside, the Mighty+ doesn’t flinch. It holds its temperature like an absolute pro, delivering consistent performance no matter the conditions. Ideal for anyone that likes a vape when they’re climbing mountains (or you live in Finland).

Chamber Capacity

• Efficient Sessions: Typically, you can enjoy a full session in about a dozen draws.
• No Stirring Needed: The even heating eliminates the need to stir, making your experience more seamless.

The Mighty+ features a ceramic-coated chamber that comfortably holds around 0.25 grams of dry herb—plenty for a solid session.

But if you’re feeling ambitious and opt for a finer grind, you can push that up to 0.3 grams.

And here’s a pro tip: a finer grind works wonders with the Mighty+’s hybrid heating system, ensuring even better vaporization and maximizing efficiency. It’s like giving the device a turbo boost.

As for session length? On average, you’re looking at about 8-10 solid hits per bowl, depending on the temperature settings and your own personal style of use.

That’s usually more than enough for a satisfying solo session or even a small group hangout. And thanks to that hybrid heating, every hit feels as good as the first—smooth, flavorful, and potent right to the end.

Is the Mighty+ worth the money? Yes. I think so. I’ve had mine for 18+ months now and it is still working as good as it was when I first unboxed it. 

The vapor quality is best in class, the heat-up time is incredible, and it is incredibly robust, owing to S&B insane quality control and industrial design techniques. 

For the right type of user (someone that is serious about their weed and wants to best, cleanest possible experience), the Mighty+ is kind of the only game in town right now. 

It runs rings around smaller vaporizers from PAX and DaVinci and its battery life is very, very good. Add in things like USB C and you’re in a great spot. 

If this sounds like you, get the Mighty+ and don’t look back. You’ll enjoy many, many years with it. And you know what? I wouldn’t trade mine for anything else right now. 

The AirVape Legacy Pro is great and so too is the Crafty+ (basically a cheaper, smaller version of the Mighty+), but neither, IMHO, can match the Mighty+ for purity of flavor and cloud volume. 

I love mine, and I reckon you’ll feel the exact same way about yours when you get it…
