Who Should Choose the IQ2?
If you’re new to vaping and looking for a reliable, high-quality device without breaking the bank, the IQ2 is still a solid choice; it’s cheaper and it most definitely gets the job done.
You’ll get things like adjustable airflow controls, app support, and the all-important removable battery functionality.
It does lack the power, battery life, and overall finesse of the newer model. But that’s ALWAYS the case when a successor model is released.
The upshot? You’ll save around $100 if you can live without those new features.
Who Should Choose the IQ3?
If you want the latest cooling tech, more power, and faster charging and longer-lasting battery life, the DaVinci IQ3 is definitely worth a look.
I have the IQ2 (and the IQ and IQ2) and the difference between those models and this new one is significant; it hits harder, the vapor is more dense and flavorful, and it lasts noticeably longer between charges.

If you’re running a PAX or an older DaVinci model, this is a big upgrade. You will notice the difference, you will feel the difference, and you’ll love its new vapor-cooling technology.
I’ve always been a big fan of DaVinci but the IQ3 is orders of magnitude better than anything they’ve done to date – no wonder it took so long to hit the market!
Final Thoughts
Both the DaVinci IQ2 and IQ3 are excellent vaporizers, but the IQ3 brings substantial improvements that not only excuse its higher price but also make it one of the best portable weed vaporizers on the market right now.
It runs rings around the Pax Plus in every regard, from its overall design and robust build quality to its performance and battery life.
Standouts for me are its Cool Core cooling system, the larger oven, and the better battery life (and, of course, the inclusion of USB C for faster charging).
If you can afford the higher price tag, the IQ3 is the one to go for and, on a personal note, I’d argue that it is worth every penny…
