I love both of these pod vapes. The Vaporesso XROS 5 is damn-near perfect and is basically the go-to pod vape for vaping on easy-mode. It does everything perfectly and its pods last for weeks and weeks between changes.
The OXVA XLIM PRO 2 DNA does essentially the same, nails the basics. But it has one massive trick up its sleeve: EVOLV’s DNA chipset. And this brings with it a slew of additional features and capabilities that actually move the needle.
Still not sure which is for you? Here’s how I see it breaking down:
Go for the Vaporesso XROS 5 if you want:
- Zero hassle, just vape and go
- Long battery life with ultra-fast charging
- A pod vape that doesn’t need babysitting
Go for the OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA if you want:
- Advanced features like Replay and Temp Control
- Full control over wattage and settings
- That high-end vape feel in your pocket
Real-World Performance: My Experience
So here’s the deal: I’ve used both the Vaporesso XROS 5 and the OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA extensively.
I don’t mean a quick unboxing and a puff or two.
I mean proper, real-world testing: long commutes, endless coffee shop work days, late nights—daily carry type stuff.
Flavour & Vapour
- XROS 5: This thing is my go-to when I want to keep things simple. The flavour you get off the new CoreX 3.0 pods is genuinely impressive: rich, clean, and it doesn’t fade after a few days like some other pods. Most pods last me nearly a month, and that’s been the case since the XROS 3 series.
- XLIM Pro 2 DNA: If the XROS 5 is solid, the XLIM Pro 2 DNA is next-level. The DNA chip brings in temperature control and Replay Mode. Those aren’t just buzzwords. Replay Mode really does repeat that perfect hit. Flavour feels sharper, especially above 20W. I’ve noticed sweeter juices taste noticeably clearer too.
Winner: Tie
This one is too close to call. Both deliver excellent flavor across the board and across their respective coil ranges. I honestly cannot tell which is better overall; they’re both exceptional. Gun to my head? Nope. Too close to call.
Battery & Charging
- XROS 5: The 1500mAh battery here feels like it goes forever. I get through a full workday with juice left. Plus, the 3A fast charging? You can top up 80% in like 20 minutes. Great for those “oh crap, it’s dead” moments.
- XLIM Pro 2 DNA: 1300mAh sounds smaller, but the DNA chip manages power well. Still, I notice I have to charge it just a little earlier in the evening compared to the XROS 5. It’s not a dealbreaker, but worth noting.
Winner: OXVA XLIM PRO 2 DNA
The OXVA has a 1300mAh battery inside it, and this combined with its EVOLV DNA chipset ensures it not only lasts longer than the XROS 5 but is also more efficient in how it uses power.
Controls & Customization
- XROS 5: Three simple power modes, Smart Mode does the thinking for you. If you’re not one for tweaking, it’s perfect. Set it, forget it.
- XLIM Pro 2 DNA: Here’s where things get spicy. Fully adjustable wattage, Replay, Temperature Control—it’s like having a full-blown box mod in your pocket. But you do need to spend some time learning the ins and outs.
Winner: OXVA XLIM PRO 2 DNA
The inclusion of EVOLV’s DNA chipset gives you way more control over settings and power output. If you’re an experienced vaper or a tinkerer, you’ll love what you can do with the XLIM Pro 2 DNA.
Build Quality & Feel
- XROS 5: Lightweight, minimalist. Feels good in the hand and fits in any pocket. Nothing flashy but solid.
- XLIM Pro 2 DNA: This is the one I reach for when I want something that feels premium. Zinc alloy and carbon fiber options make it look and feel more expensive. It’s slightly heavier, but in a good way.
Winner: OXVA XLIM PRO 2 DNA
Again, this is pretty close but I’d say the OXVA does have a slight edge. It looks and feels more premium than the XROS 5 and I really like all of the color options as well. Design is subjective, but I prefer the look and feel of the OXVA in this context.
Unique Features Worth Mentioning
Vaporesso XROS 5 Highlights:
- CoreX 3.0 Pods (crazy long pod life)
- Smart Mode
- 3A Fast Charging
- Zero learning curve
OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA Highlights:
- Evolv DNA Chip
- Replay Mode
- Temperature Control
- Pod Longevity + Next-Level Flavour
Which One’s Actually Better?

I’m a Vaporesso fanboy. Everybody knows this. I’ve used XROS vapes for the past several years, more or less exclusively. The reason? The pods and the flavor. But mostly it’s the pods themselves: they last for weeks and weeks between changes.
I knew the OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA was going to be good when I got one in. What I didn’t expect, however, was that it’d be THIS good. The flavor, the pods, the look and feel, and its capabilities? They’re all proper 1% grade.
And it can do things (lots of things) the XROS 5 simply cannot compete with. You just need to decide whether these fancier features and capabilities are things you actually need.

The only slight edge the XROS 5 has over the OXVA is to do with its pods; they tend to last about 15% longer on average (based on around 4 months of usage). The XROS 5 is also a much simpler and straight-forward vape.
I own both, and I’ll likely be keeping both in circulation too. The one you get will depend on whether you want something simple (the XROS 5) or something with more nuanced controls and capabilities (OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA).
My Final Thoughts
If I had to pick one as my everyday carry? Honestly, I lean slightly towards the XROS 5 because it just works with zero faff.
But when I want to mess around with settings or use sweeter juices where flavour clarity really matters, the XLIM Pro 2 DNA wins.
Bottom line: both are top-tier. It’s really about whether you prefer plug-and-play simplicity or pro-level customization.
XROS 5 & XLIM PRO 2 DNA FAQs For The Road…
Which pod lasts longer, XROS 5 or XLIM Pro 2 DNA?
After using both the XROS 5 and the OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA for a solid few months, all I can say is that the XROS pods tend to last slightly longer. They also tend to hold their flavor for longer too. It’s close, though, we’re talking about maybe a 15% discrepancy at best.
Is the DNA chip worth it for beginners?
EVOLV’s DNA chipset is super-advanced, it’s always been the benchmark for precision vaping and efficiency. Inside the OXVA XLIM 2 PRO DNA, it’s a welcome addition. But for first timers? It might be a bit much. The vape is simple enough to use, but for those that need something that “just works”, the Vaporesso XROS 5 is probably more suitable.
Does Replay Mode really make a difference?
Replay Mode is one of those things that sounds like a gimmick but when you use it you realize it actually isn’t. By locking in your exact, precise settings you get the same type of puff every time. Everything is the same. The chipset makes thousands of adjustments a second to do this. Yeah, I kind of dig this feature.
