The Vaporesso XROS 3 is an incredible pod vape. And so too is the Vaporesso XROS Pro. But which is best and – most importantly – why? I’ve used both, here’s my overall verdict…
TL;DR: 🆚 Vaporesso XROS 3 vs. XROS Pro in 2024:
For overall performance, battery life and usability, the XROS Pro is the clear winner 🏆
It has a larger 1200mAh battery 🔋, faster charging ⚡ (35 mins), adjustable wattage 🔧, and “Super Pulse” mode for smoother vaping.
Both have sleek designs, great flavor 🍓, and are easy to use, but the Pro’s extra features and performance make it the top choice for vapers. 🌬️

The pod vape market is thriving, with many impressive devices launching over the past few years. Two that stand out are the Vaporesso XROS 3 and the newer Vaporesso XROS Pro.
The XROS 3 has been sat at the top of our best pod vapes guide for 12+ months. But the newer XROS Pro is here with a raft of updates and tweaks.
But is it better overall? Or does it over complicate things? I’ve used both extensively now and I have some pretty concrete thoughts on how they compare and which is the better option in 2024.
Let’s compare the XROS 3 and XROS Pro head-to-head and see how they stack up.
Design and Build Quality
In terms of design, both the XROS 3 and XROS Pro feature compact, rectangular-shaped builds that are easy to grip and pocket-friendly.
They utilize durable zinc alloy construction with a matte finish that feels solid in hand.
The XROS Pro does have a bit more heft and weight to it compared to the featherlight XROS 3. This is due to the Pro’s larger 1200mAh battery and inclusion of a small color display screen.
While lightweight, the XROS 3’s build quality does not feel compromised or cheap by any means. But the XROS Pro’s added weight lends it a more premium feel overall.
When it comes to aesthetics, both pod systems look modern and stylish, available in a range of attractive color options to suit individual tastes.
The XROS Pro’s display allows you to see puff count and battery life at a glance, though the XROS 3’s minimalist design has its own appeal too.
Battery Life and Charging
A key difference between the devices is found in their batteries. The XROS 3 packs an impressive 1000mAh integrated battery that provides excellent battery life, easily lasting through a full day of moderate vaping.
The XROS Pro steps it up with a slightly larger 1200mAh battery, extending runtime even further between charges. For heavier vapers, the XROS Pro’s added capacity is a welcome bonus.
Both devices utilize convenient USB-C charging. However, the XROS Pro holds another advantage here, capable of fully recharging in just 35 minutes. The XROS 3 isn’t far behind, but its one-hour recharge time is slower by comparison.
So for battery life and charging speed, the XROS Pro pulls ahead as the winner. Its quicker charging coupled with the larger battery capacity gives it better performance in this category overall.
Ease of Use
When it comes to ease of use, the XROS 3 and XROS Pro are both very straightforward and intuitive pod systems. Their pods connect securely using strong magnets and are easy to remove when it’s time to refill.
Filling the pods is mess-free, with the rubber stoppers sealing the fill ports securely. Battery levels are easy to check too, with both devices using LED indicators – the XROS Pro just displays the percentage digitally on its screen.
One advantage of the XROS Pro is that it has a locking feature to prevent the device from accidentally firing in your pocket or bag. But both systems are very user-friendly overall.
Vapor Quality and Flavor
This is an area where both pod mods excel equally. They use the same innovative COREX heating technology and compatible pod/coil options.
That means you can expect the same excellent flavor and vapor quality on both.
The replaceable pods have generous 2mL e-juice capacity and come in either 1.0ohm (MTL) or 0.6ohm (RDL) resistances. Flavor is rich, nuanced and consistent through multiple pod refills.
Basically, when it comes to flavor and vapor production, users can expect an identical top-tier experience on either device. There’s no clear winner here as both perform superbly.
A key advantage offered by the newer XROS Pro is increased adjustability and customization options. The XROS 3 has no variable settings – you simply vape as-is.
The XROS Pro introduces adjustable wattage (up to 30W) as well as a “Super Pulse” mode for a smoother, more consistent output. Airflow can also be customized to your preferences.
For vapers who like to fine-tune their vape, the XROS Pro is the better choice. The ability to tweak wattage and airflow to find your ideal settings makes it more versatile.
Verdict: XROS Pro is the Better Pod System in 2024
When comparing the Vaporesso XROS 3 vs the XROS Pro, while both are excellent pod vapes, the XROS Pro comes out on top as the superior option in 2024.
The XROS Pro builds on the strong foundation laid by the XROS 3 and makes welcome improvements.
Key advantages like the larger battery, faster charging, and adjustable wattage settings make the XROS Pro the more feature-rich, versatile pod system.
It retains everything that made the XROS 3 great – stellar build quality, fantastic flavor, and easy usability – while taking the experience to the next level.
For vapers seeking the very best pint-sized pod vape, the XROS Pro is clearly the superior option right now for a variety of important factors.
- Compatible with all XROS pods, improved battery life, rock-solid design, display, faster charging
- 1200mAh battery, 2ml pods, backward compatible with all XROS pods
- DTL, MTL w/ Nic Salts
