I’ve tested maybe 25+ nicotine pouch brands in the past 18 months. Some were good, some were great, and quite a lot were bloody awful.
My go-to brands right now are as follows:

If I’m in the US, it’s ALP pouch.
Specifically its Mountain Wintergreen or Chilled Mint.
I also love its limited-edition Spearmint.
There’s plenty of other, decent US brands about. The best nicotine pouch brands we’ve tested are stored inside our Best Nicotine Pouch Guide.
- VELO are decent, if you don’t mind supporting big tobacco.
- Juice Head were OK.
- And Lucy has some nice flavors too.
ALP is what I like the most, though. You can read my full review of ALP’s entire range of pouches for more details.
They last the longest flavor-wise, they do awesome bulk offers, and the taste and mouth-feel of its pouches is pitch-perfect.
In the UK, I use:
- FUMI – its strawberry flavoured pouch is bloody delicious.
- VELO, if I’m in a pinch and there’s nothing else.
- Nordic Spirit – its spearmint is great.
A Word On Nicotine Pouch Strength…

Even if you’re a heavy smoker or vaper, don’t go thinking you need a 30mg pouch. It’ll blow your head off. I made this mistake recently.
I bought a pack of Pablo nicotine pouches, thinking I could handle it. I could not. Within moments of popping it in my mouth, I had to take it out and go and lay down for 20 minutes.
Most users will be fine with 3mg, 6mg or 9mg.
If you want or need stronger, go with 12mg or 14mg.
Any higher and you’ll get fuzzy-headed. Believe that.
Avoid Cheap Nicotine Pouches Like The Plague
The fact you can buy them everywhere – 7/11s, supermarkets, grocery stores – doesn’t help.
They’re cheap to make, especially if they’re done in bulk overseas, and the market is growing.
The nicotine pouch market is already worth billions which is why there are so many crap-quality pouches on the market.
If you’ve had one of these, you might decide the entire concept isn’t for you.
This is what initially happened to me, back in 2023.
Then I tried a proper nicotine pouch, one made with actual care and attention, and the difference was night and day.
Do They Work?

I used to chain vape my way through most days, getting through 60ml to 100ml of vape juice a week.
With pouches, I hardly ever vape in the week at all. I get through maybe 10ml of vape juice every two weeks.
I vape a little at the weekends, with friends or with drinks, but my mid-week vaping has gone down by about 90%.
I feel better, I can run faster for longer, and – side benefit – nicotine pouches act as a kind of appetite suppressant, so I’ve lost a bit of weight as well.
So, if you wanna cut down on your vaping I’d recommend you check them out.
And if you want to use my go-to brand, keep it locked to ALP.
And here’s the other top-rated nicotine pouch brands we dig right now.
