DaVinci has a new weed vaporizer called the DaVinci IQC. It’s cheaper than the DaVinci IQ2 but still packs plenty of performance. But how does it compare to the DaVinci IQ2? Let’s find out…
For as long as I can remember, the DaVinci IQ and then the DaVinci IQ 2 have been my go-to vaporizers. I dabbled with a PAX 3 and a FireFly 2 a bit but I always ended up coming back to the DaVinci IQ or
Why? The main reason is that, unlike the PAX and most other portable weed vaporizers, the DaVinci IQ and the DaVinci IQ2 run on a single 18650 battery which means you can simply swap out a dead battery for a new one – no downtime.
With the PAX and the FireFly, for instance, as well as the Mighty and the Crafty, this just isn’t possible. You have to plug the device into a wall charger and wait 90 minutes to 120 minutes for it to recharge. And by that point, you’re usually fast asleep.
DaVinci IQC vs DaVinci IQ2: How They’re Different
Design Elements
The DaVinci IQC and DaVinci IQ2 are, largely speaking, very similar. The DaVinci IQC is slightly smaller than the DaVinci IQ2 and it doesn’t feature an adjustable airflow control system.
The upshot of this, however, is that you’ll pay less: the DaVinci IQC retails for $229, whereas the DaVinci IQ2 costs $279. If you can live with an AFC on your vaporizer, you stand to make a considerable saving.
The DaVinci IQC is also lighter and thinner than the DaVinci IQ2, although not by much – we’re talking millimeters and grams here. The buttons and how you use the vaporizer remain the same across both devices, however, save for the lack of an AFC on the DaVinci IQC.
DaVinci has opted to use high-temperature silicon for the DaVinci IQC’s flavor chamber instead of zirconia, which you get with the DaVinci IQ2. This new material does a better job of dampening heat, so the vaporizer stays cooler for longer.

You also get a more secure mouthpiece on the DaVinci IQC, thanks to the use of significantly larger magnets. And it really works too; the mouthpiece, once it is shut, feels way more stable than the DaVinci IQ2’s.
And lastly, FINALLY, the DaVinci IQC now uses USB Type C to charge, rather than the ancient USB ports used on both the DaVinci IQ and the DaVinci IQ2. This means faster charging and easier access – no one uses microUSB cables anymore.
Modes and Smart Profiles
Like its predecessors and siblings, the DaVinci IQC features several modes and smart profiles which make switching up the intensity of your sessions a cinch. All you have to do is click the button to move from one Smart Profile to another – the higher the number, the higher the heat.
As with the DaVinci IQ2, you get four Smart Profiles on the DaVinci IQC, and they are as follows:
- Mode 1: starts at 350F and increases to 370F
- Mode 2: starts at 370F and increases to 390F
- Mode 3- starts at 390 and increases to 410F
- Mode 4: starts at 410 and increases to 430F
You don’t need an app to run the DaVinci IQ2 nor the DaVinci IQ2, or the DaVinci IQ, although there is one you can download and use if you like. Personally, I never bothered. The Smart Profiles are just that good.
Performance
The DaVinci IQC lacks the DaVinci IQ2’s AFC, but I wouldn’t consider this much of a deal-breaker. Where it counts, the DaVinci IQ2 is just as good as the DaVinci IQ2.
It delivers the same, great flavor you’d expect from a DaVinci vaporizer, it heats up fast, the design is as slick as ever (especially in red), and it features improved charging capabilities and insulation. And it costs less than the DaVinci IQ2.
As updates go, I don’t think you could ask for any more! The DaVinci IQC is a great, new option for anyone that can’t quite stretch to the DaVinci IQ2. If you can live with an AFC, and you totally can, the DaVinci IQC is well worth a buy.
DaVinci IQC vs DaVinci IQ2 – Wrapping Up
The DaVinci IQC is slightly smaller, lighter, and thinner than the DaVinci IQ2. It runs on the same technology as the IQ2, performs almost identically, and is powered by a removable 18650 battery.
You get improved charging capabilities on the DaVinci IQC, thanks to the addition of USB Type C, and better insulation too. The mouthpiece is now held in place more securely, thanks to bigger magnets, and the vaporizer itself, like the IQ2, is super simple to use.
I also happen to think that DaVinci’s IQ2 and the IQC are two of the best-looking weed vapes on the market right now. They’re ergonomic, premium-looking, and they sit wonderfully in the palm of your hand.
Add in the fact that DaVinci includes a TON of accessories and gear in the box, as well as a 18650 battery, and you’re looking at one of the best performing, best value weed vaporizer mods on the market right now. Period.
