I wasn’t a fan of the G3’s predecessor; the coils were weak and the performance was average. VooPoo has fixed both of these things with the ARGUS G3, delivering a really, really impressive pod vape.

Final Verdict: Is It Worth It?

The ARGUS G3 is one of the few pod vapes I’ve used recently that actually feels like an upgrade, not just another variation of the same. It’s simple to use, doesn’t leak, and the flavor you get from it is superb.

I don’t think it is better than the Vaporesso XROS 5 with pod longevity and overall flavor, but it is damn close – and that’s impressive.

The coils are phenomenal, the design is understated but sleek, and it’s versatile enough to suit both MTL lovers and RDL fans. And in a great price and it’s easy to see why this one is proving very popular right now.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the VooPoo ARGUS G3 at first. VooPoo’s had some hits (the original ARGUS Pod is still one of my favourite travel vapes) and a few misses.

I’ve tested newly all of its latest pod vapes and none of them have managed to match anything from Vaporesso or OXVA.

But this one? It’s easily one of the best pods VooPoo has released in a good, long while.

Let me walk you through why.

First Impressions

Out of the box, the G3 feels premium without trying too hard. It’s light (about 65g) but doesn’t feel cheap.

The body is a blend of zinc alloy and polycarbonate, so you get that brushed-metal look with none of the pocket weight.

I grabbed the matte gunmetal version and it looks slick as hell. The screen is big, bright, and surprisingly customisable. It also shows you all the important stuff: wattage, battery life, coil resistance, and number of puffs.

You can also change themes and animations as well which is great for those of you that like tinkering around with things.

Setup was easy: slap in a pod, the device reads the resistance, and automatically sets the right wattage.

No guesswork.

But you’ll want to let it prime for 10 minutes; this ensures the coil properly wicks, extending its lifespan and stopping dry hits.

You can still tweak it manually if you want, using the settings menu, but out of the box, it’s ready to vape.

Me? I had a play around with it for the purpose of this review but this is not at all necessary.

Vape Quality & Coil Performance

This is where the G3 really won me over. The included 0.7Ω pod hits like a dream. Clean, punchy flavour with a tight but satisfying draw.

I used it for straight MTL with the airflow about 60% closed, and it was easily on par with some of the better MTL setups I’ve used in the last few years, notably Vaporesso’s XROS pod systems which are my current go-to vapes right now.

The 0.4Ω pod is designed for more power, more clouds. It’s delivers a restricted DTL draw and, while the flavor is great, once you get up to around 25W the battery really starts taking a battering.

If you chain vape with this pod in the vape, don’t expect it to last all day without a top-up.

What really impressed me was coil longevity. I pushed the first pod through close to 90ml of juice, and the flavour barely changed.

This is close to matching Vaporesso’s XROS pods which, for me, are the industry standard right now, both for flavor and overall longevity.

Flavor is consistant and the coils fire uniformly; there’s no dead or half-assed hits. It would appear that a lot of work has gone into these coils

The last VooPoo pod coils I tested were NOT good.

These iCOSM CODE 2.0 pods with their so-called “BIG COIL” and Golden Cotton sound like marketing fluff but I can’t deny the results.

They deliver some of the best flavor I’ve had from a VooPoo pod coil in a long time, and they last well over a week and half on average which is great.

Battery Life & Charging

The 1500mAh battery is solid. With the 0.7Ω pod at 18–20W, I was getting a full day and a bit out of it.

The 0.4Ω pod at 25W+? More like half a day but that’s expected.

The real win is the charging speed. From empty to full took me about 35–40 minutes, and that’s fast enough that I never really worried about running out of juice.

No passthrough vaping, though, which feels like a missed trick.

Also, the screen turns off while it charges, so if you’re the kind of person who checks obsessively, that might bug you. Not a dealbreaker, just slightly annoying.

Usability

The adjustable airflow slider is smooth and precise, none of that clicky nonsense. You can go full MTL or open it up for RDL, and everything in between feels usable.

The top-fill design works, but it’s a bit finicky. The fill port is under a rubber flap, and it’s tight. If you’re using thicker bottles or have shaky hands, you might curse once or twice.

That said, no leaks. At all. Which I’ll happily take over convenience any day.

One small gripe? The fire button has a tiny rattle. Doesn’t affect performance, but once you notice it, it’s hard to un-hear.

Final Verdict: Is It Worth It?

VooPoo ARGUS G3 Review: Better Than The XROS 5?Pin

Absolutely. The ARGUS G3 is one of the few pod vapes I’ve used recently that actually feels like an upgrade—not just another variation of the same.

It gives you the kind of flavour you’d expect from something much more complicated, but with zero learning curve.

The coils are phenomenal, the design is understated but sleek, and it’s versatile enough to suit both MTL lovers and RDL fans.

If you’re after a daily driver pod vape that doesn’t suck, this one’s a no-brainer.
