What’s the best vape for a beginner?
The best vape for a beginner – or someone coming from smoking – is a refillable pod vape.
They’re designed to be simple to use, most only have a single button, and they run Nic Salts vape juice which is stronger but also very smooth.
Most pod vapes also have a similar draw to a cigarette (MTL), so they’re much easier to transition to than, say, an ultra-powerful sub-ohm tank.

What type of vape juice should I use?
High VG juice is designed for sub-ohm tanks that create massive clouds. Most people in the UK nowadays tend to use pod vapes.
These are lower power, they produce less vapor – around the same as a cigarette. These types of vapes run on Nic Salts vape juice.
Now, Nic Salts usually only comes in 10ml bottles.
But we’ve fixed that with our Bar Salts Longfills (120ml) and Bar Salts QuickMix lines of e-liquid (6000+ puffs per bottle). And that’s way easier to get on with than a stupid 10ml bottle, right?
How much nicotine do I need in my vape?
If you’re a heavy smoker, go with 20mg. Tops. Most people will be fine with 10mg. I only ever use 10mg; it tastes better and isn’t as harsh as 20mg. You might vape more initially, but that’ll settle down. 10mg is the sweet spot for many, myself included.
What are the best pod vape brands?
As of right now, and based on ALL of our testing, the two best pod vapes brands for things like coil lifespan, reliability, battery life, and flavor is either Vaporesso or OXVA.
Both options are superb. I love both brands. My current go-to, however, is the Vaporesso XROS Pro and the new Vaporesso XROS 5.
I need to stop using disposables, what should I use instead?
