Is ALP Pouch Better Than Rogue Nicotine Pouches?
Rogue and ALP are both American-made, tobacco-free nicotine pouches, but they go about things very differently.
Rogue plays it big and bold: lots of flavor, bigger pouches, and that signature gum “bite.”
It also has extensive distribution across the country as well. You can find its pouches everywhere from 7/11’s to grocery stores.
ALP? It does things differently, and that’s part of its appeal.
Simplicity is sometimes preferable, and when it comes to nicotine pouches, I do prefer the way ALP does things.
ALP pouches are smaller, the flavors are more natural-tasting, they hit harder at the top-end, and they’re always nice and moist.
ALP is my current go-to brand right now (and it has been since early 2024).
I tested out a bunch of Rogue Nicotine Pouches in 2024 and they were decent but, like VELO and ZYN, they lack the mouth-feel and flavor profiles and longevity you get with ALP’s pouches.
Let’s get into the key differences between these two pouch brands…

Brand Positioning
- Rogue is owned by Swisher (yeah, the cigar people). It’s built for mass appeal, stocked in gas stations across the country. Big flavors, strong hit, no-nonsense vibe.
- ALP is from Turning Point Brands, tied to Tucker Carlson’s ventures, and it’s clearly going for a more niche crowd — online-focused, clean design, and a “natural” flavor pitch.
If you care about aesthetics and cleaner branding, ALP feels more modern and premium. Rogue is functional, no-frills. It’s also owned by a cigar company which might be slightly off-putting for some users. It doesn’t bother me, however.
Nicotine Strengths & Delivery
- Rogue sticks to 3 mg and 6 mg across most of its lineup. That’s solid for beginners and moderate users. The hit is fast, and the pouches are dry and large, giving a stronger gum feel.
- ALP steps it up with 3 mg, 6 mg, and 9 mg options. That 9 mg pouch gives you serious kick without diving into European “face-melter” territory. The pouches are slim and moist, meaning smoother delivery but still fast-acting.
ALP is preferable here because you get a higher ceiling (9 mg), better comfort, and a discreet feel under the lip.
Flavor Profiles
- Rogue has more flavors — mint, wintergreen, citrus, cinnamon, fruit, even “clear” (unflavored). But many are sweet and candy-like, especially the fruit ones.
- ALP is more mint/wintergreen-heavy, with a smaller range. But the flavors are more subtle and natural-tasting, without that artificial punch. I reviewed all the current ALP Pouch flavors recently, so check that out for more information. Mountain Wintergreen, Chilled Mint and Spearmint are the ones to go for though in my opinion.
If you like variety and bold flavor, go Rogue. If you want cleaner, smoother, more refined flavors, ALP is your move.
Pouch Size, Moisture & Comfort
- Rogue pouches are bigger and drier, which means you’ll really feel them sitting in your lip. Some people like this. Me? I hate it and this is one of the BIG reasons why I love ALP pouches so much; they’re always moist and comfortable in the mouth.
- ALP pouches are slim and moist, making them less noticeable, more comfortable, and easier on sensitive gums. The moisture also helps with quicker nicotine release.
This matters if…
- You talk a lot during the day and want to keep things discreet.
- You’ve had gum irritation with drier pouches.
ALP wins again here; it’s more comfortable for chain-pouching (I don’t know if that’s a phrase) and I much prefer the flavor I get from them versus Rogue’s more synthetic taste.
Availability & Price
- Rogue is everywhere — online, gas stations, smoke shops. It’s easy to find, and bulk/multipack deals are common.
- ALP is still building its presence. Most of its customers (like me) tend to by direct from the brand itself, although its distribution is growing – it snagged some spots in Walmart earlier this year. Alp also does some truly killer bulk deals as well which means if you know what you like you can save a ton of money.
Real-World User Feedback On Each Brand
- Rogue users sometimes report dry or damaged pouches in certain batches. Not always, but it happens.
- ALP is newer, but so far gets points for freshness and pouch quality, though availability can vary. For instance, it often launches new limited edition flavors that are amazing, you get hooked on it, and then it’s pulled. This can be rather annoying.
My Advice On Which To Go For…

Rogue is the easy-to-find, hard-hitting American classic. It does big pouches, bold flavors, and a reliable daily pouch for a lot of users.
But in my experience, Rogue’s pouches are dry AF and uncomfortable on the gum with prolonged use. ALP’s pouches are moist and soft and never cause any gum irritation – and I’ve used thousands of them to-date.
But if you want a cleaner experience, a stronger option (9 mg), and slimmer pouches that don’t beat up your gums? ALP Pouch is the better buy.
It’s not as flashy, doesn’t have as many flavors but what it does, it does better. ALP’s Spearmint and Mountain Wintergreen are two of the best-tasting pouches I have ever tried – and I’ve tested over 20+ brands in the last 18 months.
